Crossing floodwaters to deliver goods to isolated areas
Immediately after the Central region, especially Da Nang city, suffered heavy damage due to floods, Mr. Pham Huu Phu, Head of the Hoa Sen 47 volunteer group (Dak Lak province) - a son of Quang - immediately put aside his fatigue after the relief trip to the North to launch an emergency support campaign towards his homeland.
In just three days, the Hoa Sen 47 volunteer group and friends mobilized and transported 80 tons of essential goods to support people in the flood-hit areas.
On the afternoon of November 3, at the gathering point in Duy Nghia commune, Da Nang city, one of the areas that had been flooded for many days, the image of the members of the Hoa Sen 47 Volunteer Group ( Dak Lak province) became busier and more urgent than ever. Each heavy bag of goods was quickly transferred from the car to the small boats. Everyone put all their efforts into it, no one rested, all focused on the only goal: to promptly bring relief goods to the isolated depression. After being filled with relief goods, two small boats filled with the love of the people parted the immense waves, overcame the muddy flood, carrying the faith and hope of the whole group, going deep into the villages that were submerged in water.
Thousands of gifts containing the warmth of fellow countrymen were directly delivered by Mr. Phu and his friends to each household, bringing timely material relief to people who had been isolated for many days.
Mr. Pham Huu Phu, Head of Hoa Sen 47 Volunteer Group, shared that he and his friends had just returned to Dak Lak after a volunteer trip to support people affected by storms and floods in the Northern provinces (Thai Nguyen, Cao Bang ) about 20 days ago. However, facing the situation of his homeland submerged in water, where people had to endure isolation for many days, the heart of this expatriate did not allow him to rest. In just three lightning-fast days, Hoa Sen 47 Volunteer Group and his friend Phu's group (Hong Diem Transport Company, in the old Krong Ana district), Dak Lak province connected and mobilized 80 tons of goods, including mainly rice, instant noodles, bottled water, canned food, essential goods and thousands of banh chung and banh tet.
“This time, the delegation traveled in 9 vehicles, divided into two directions to support the people. On November 2 and 3, we gathered and supported the isolated areas in Duy Nghia, Xuan Phu, and Duy Xuyen communes for many days. On November 4, the delegation will depart for Tra My to provide relief there. Although the value of the gifts is not much, they are the hearts of children and friends towards the beloved Quang land,” Mr. Phu shared.
To ensure the fastest delivery of supplies, local authorities and people near the gathering point mobilized boats and canoes to guide the team to bring relief goods into the isolated area. Amidst this affection, Mr. Ngo Canh, Duy Nghia commune, could not hide his emotions and expressed his deep gratitude to the Hoa Sen 47 Volunteer Group and the benefactors.
"The people here are going through a difficult time, struggling because of the floods for many days. The great heart of the relief team, not afraid of hardship to bring each gift package to the place, makes us extremely grateful. This spirit of solidarity, mutual love and support is a great source of motivation to help us overcome the disaster," Mr. Ngo Canh was moved.
Not far away, in Nam Phuoc commune, the volunteer group of Mr. Dang Van Hau, Bac Gia Nghia ward, Lam Dong province is busy packing essential necessities into small packages to make it easier to transport to people who are still isolated. Moving down the floodwaters is difficult and dangerous, so the group used drones to scout the way and transport goods faster. Each package moves through the air for kilometers smoothly to the people. The drone, which is normally a toy for technology enthusiasts, has now become a useful means of transport in the rainy and flood conditions that have divided the terrain. "We prioritize bringing bottled drinking water, regular medicine, and dry food, which are essential things for people who have been isolated for many days," Mr. Hau shared.
Timely response and support

Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, said that whether the support is sent through the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels, local authorities, the Red Cross Society or given directly to people in flood-affected areas, it is very valuable and worthy of respect, because it is a vivid demonstration of the tradition of "loving others as you love yourself", "the whole leaves cover the torn leaves" - the profound humanistic beauty of the Vietnamese people.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Da Nang City has promptly taken action, playing a core role in coordinating and organizing large-scale relief. Immediately after the floods caused heavy damage, the Front proactively grasped the actual situation, and at the same time widely informed on media and social platforms to receive feedback and synthesize support needs from the people. The Relief Mobilization Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City has closely coordinated with the Military Command and the Red Cross Society of the city in receiving funds and relief goods, supporting people affected by storm No. 12 and the recent historic floods.
Relief goods receiving points are located at 470 Le Van Hien Street, Ngu Hanh Son Ward and the headquarters of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, 12 Tran Phu, Hai Chau Ward. Relief work is being deployed synchronously and promptly to help people in damaged areas stabilize their lives soon.
The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Da Nang city is developing a plan to coordinate with the City People's Committee to effectively integrate resources from the Central Government, the city and social mobilization resources through the Front, to deploy timely response and support work under the direction of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee. Along with that, the Front and the City Red Cross have established grassroots shock forces to regularly update the flood situation, rescue work and the actual needs of each residential area. Information is transmitted promptly on the media, helping organizations and individuals quickly grasp and proactively participate in supporting people in damaged areas. "From there, the distribution will be organized appropriately, meeting the requirements but also in accordance with the actual situation," Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang city emphasized.
As of 4:00 p.m. on November 4, 2025, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city has received more than 26 billion VND in cash and 243 tons of relief goods (equivalent to 6.5 billion VND), promptly distributing more than 144 tons of goods to localities. All bank statements are made public by the City Front on the media, ensuring transparency. Organizations and individuals can look up information on the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Da Nang City's Electronic Information Page: https://mattran.danang.gov.vn.
To overcome the confusion in relief activities, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city Le Tri Thanh signed Official Dispatch No. 741/MTTQ-BTT (dated November 4, 2025) to agencies, units and localities to effectively carry out coordination work. According to the dispatch, the roles of the parties are clearly defined, forming a synchronous process.
