Quang Tri mobilizes all forces to respond to storm No. 13

To proactively and be ready to respond to storm No. 13, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province promptly issued telegrams, directives and established inspection teams to direct the work of overcoming the consequences of floods and proactively responding to storms. Information and warning work has also been strengthened by functional agencies and local authorities to help people proactively prevent.

Quang Tri province requires all departments, branches, sectors and localities to concentrate, switch all forces to a state of readiness to respond, strictly implement the action motto of "4 on-site" and "5 defense zones", ensure unified command and smooth information.

The province also requested the localities in the province and the functional forces to urgently overcome the consequences of the recent floods. At the same time, urgently review and update the areas at high risk of deep flooding, landslides, flash floods, and areas directly affected by storm No. 13 to proactively organize the evacuation of people from dangerous areas before the storm directly affects them.

To be proactive and ready in all situations to respond to rain and storms, Quang Tri province has prepared plans, planning to evacuate about 1,019 households/3,119 people/9 coastal communes in the South; 2,292 households/7,000 people/16 communes in the downstream area of the southern river at risk of flooding; 415 households/1,926 people/12 communes in the Southwest at risk of landslides in case of prolonged heavy rain.

Units and localities must prepare emergency response plans for projects and downstream areas for lakes and dams, and dike protection plans in vulnerable areas for dikes and embankments. At the same time, continue to count and strictly manage boats and vehicles still operating at sea, guide them to move out of dangerous areas; arrange and guide the mooring of boats and ships, ensure the safety of fishermen, vehicles, and aquaculture cages. Units and localities need to proactively arrange forces and vehicles, ensure quick mobility, and provide timely support when an emergency occurs.

According to the Quang Tri Province Civil Defense Command, the province has a total of 8,720 vehicles/23,360 workers. By 3:00 p.m. on November 6, the province had 8,699 vehicles/23,205 workers anchored at the port; 21 vehicles/155 workers were operating in the waters of the Gulf of Tonkin, Quang Tri and Lam Dong . These vehicles have received information about storm No. 13 and are on their way ashore to take shelter.

With the spirit of "proactive, ready, timely", Quang Tri province has prepared resources to respond and overcome the aftermath of floods and storm No. 13, in which the safety of people's lives is especially ensured above all and damage caused by natural disasters is minimized.

According to the forecast of the authorities, from the night of November 6 to November 8, 2025, there is a possibility of a flood on the rivers in the province. During this flood, the flood peak on Kien Giang River is approximately at alert level 3, O Lau River fluctuates from alert level 2 to below alert level 3, Hieu River and Thach Han River fluctuate at alert level 2, other rivers are approximately at alert level 1.

Previously, due to the impact of the recent floods, in Quang Tri province, there are currently more than 6 flooded roads, 40 landslides, more than 785 households/2,271 people flooded, 232 households/885 people isolated and 2 locations/1,049 students had to stay home from school.
