Police forces deploy measures to respond to storm No. 13

ĐNO - Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi), the Coast Guard and Police forces in the Central region simultaneously activated emergency response plans to support people.

* On the morning of November 6, a working delegation of the Vietnam Coast Guard led by Major General Le Dinh Cuong, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, inspected the response to storm No. 13 at the Command of Coast Guard Region 2.

The leader of the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 said that immediately after storm KALMAEGI entered the East Sea and became storm No. 13, Coast Guard Region 2 held a conference to disseminate and assign tasks of preventing and fighting storm No. 13 to agencies and units; assigned Party committees and commanders in charge to ensure clear people, clear work, and clear responsibilities in implementation.

Instruct ships operating at sea to regularly and closely monitor storm developments, advise and propose shelter and anchoring plans to ensure absolute safety in all aspects.

Along with that, Coast Guard Region 2 has coordinated with local Party committees and authorities in the management unit's area to grasp the situation of storm prevention and control in the area and update the contact phone numbers of local leaders, notify the contact phone number of the Region Command to discuss and be ready to organize forces to participate in helping people prevent and control storms and overcome the consequences after storms when requested...

Currently, the entire unit maintains 100% of its personnel on duty 24/7; established 6 mobile teams on shore, 2 mobile teams on river with 14 ships, 6 boats, 8 vehicles and nearly 200 officers and soldiers ready to mobilize for rescue when situations arise.

After inspecting Coast Guard Region 2, Major General Le Dinh Cuong, Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, highly appreciated the proactive and responsible spirit of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command in responding to storm No. 13.

At the same time, the agencies and units of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command are required to absolutely not be subjective or negligent, to be ready and best prepared to proactively prevent, combat and overcome the consequences caused by storms and heavy rains according to the motto "4 on-site", "3 ready", "5 proactive"; ensuring the safety of life and health of the forces directly performing the tasks and officers and soldiers.

In addition, Major General Le Dinh Cuong requested Coast Guard Region 2 to continue to maintain on-duty mode, maintain communication with localities in the area where the unit is stationed, and be ready to mobilize forces to rescue and support people in case of emergency situations.

* In the face of the complicated developments of storm No. 13, on November 6, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH) of Da Nang City Police organized propaganda and mobilized fishing boat owners, transport ships and oil trading ships to urgently move to safe anchorage in the areas of Tho Quang Fishing Port, An Hoa Fishing Port, Hong Trieu Fishing Port, Tam Quang Fishing Port... to minimize risks caused by storms and rains.

Officers and soldiers of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Department coordinated with the Border Guard and Tho Quang Boat Management Board to guide fishermen in checking equipment and tying up their boats, ensuring safety of life and property.

At the same time, propaganda was carried out at the port, leaflets were distributed, and fire prevention and rescue skills were provided at sea in bad weather conditions.

* Since November 5, the Traffic Police Department of Da Nang City Police has synchronously deployed many measures to ensure traffic order and safety, responding to storm No. 13.

Accordingly, the Traffic Police Department mobilized 100% of its officers and soldiers to be on duty 24/7 throughout the city. Teams and stations increased patrols and controls at key routes and points such as coastal roads, overpasses, underpasses, steep passes and low-lying areas at risk of flooding; organized the installation of warning signs, erected barriers, and instructed people not to enter dangerous areas when there were strong winds, deep water or landslides.

At the same time, coordinate with relevant agencies to call on ships to take shelter in safe places and arrange appropriate anchorage to reduce risks when storm No. 13 makes landfall.

Along with that, officers and soldiers of the Traffic Police Department stepped up propaganda work, advising people to tie down houses, headquarters, construction works, especially places with cranes and volatile materials; and strictly follow the instructions of the authorities when storm No. 13 makes landfall.
