Based on the growth momentum after the COVID-19 pandemic, in early 2025, the Vietnamese tourism industry set a target of welcoming 22-23 million international visitors in the year. By August 2025, the Government issued Resolution No. 226/NQ-CP on growth targets for industries, sectors, localities and key tasks and solutions to ensure the country's economic growth reaches 8.3-8.5%. Accordingly, the Government assigned the tourism industry to strive to reach at least 25 million international visitors in 2025.
At the regular press conference for the third quarter of 2025 organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Pham Van Thuy commented that the goal of welcoming 25 million international visitors in 2025 is a big challenge but can be achieved if the industry accelerates and focuses on implementing key solutions in the remaining time of the year.
The top priority is to develop unique tourism products with their own identity, meeting new trends of tourists; strengthen the linkage of service chains from travel, transportation, accommodation to cuisine and shopping to create a complete and attractive experience. Along with that, it is necessary to promote domestic and international tourism promotion activities, apply digital technology and multimedia communication to spread the image of Vietnam as a destination; continue to improve support mechanisms and policies, especially on entry visas, to create favorable conditions and attract more international tourists.
According to Mr. Vu The Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, to attract more international visitors, the tourism industry needs to focus on two main solutions. First of all, it is necessary to promote digital communication and increase promotion on online platforms to promote the image of Vietnamese tourism to the world, especially focusing on key markets and emerging potential markets. At the same time, it is necessary to prioritize direct promotion activities with international travel businesses through organizing survey groups (Famtrip), introducing new tourism products and services, thereby encouraging partners to bring visitors to Vietnam in 2025 and the following years.
