With the advantage of possessing a system of unique landscapes, rich cultural heritage and drastic management, the tourism industry of Tuyen Quang province has recorded impressive growth in the first 9 months of 2025, creating an important foundation to become an attractive destination in the Northeast region.

Tuyen Quang tourism flourishes after merger

Immediately after the merger, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang province advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue a Decision on the establishment of the Organizing Committee for major holidays of the province; announced the assignment of tasks to members of the Organizing Committee; deployed the Plan to implement Decision No. 1687/QD-TTg dated December 30, 2024 of the Prime Minister approving the Program "Building a model of grassroots libraries serving people in mountainous and border areas in the midland and mountainous areas of the North for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2045"; issued a Decision to announce administrative procedures in the fields of culture, sports and tourism.

Implementing the organization of cultural, artistic and sports activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); the plan to serve the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress of Tuyen Quang province (2025-2030) and propaganda and celebration work to serve the 1st Congress of Delegates of Tuyen Quang province, term 2025-2030; organizing the Tuyen Thanh Night Program in 2025; the art program "Returning to the source - Towards the future" to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6); Participated in the "Exhibition of socio-economic achievements of Tuyen Quang province on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2)" at the National Exhibition Center, Dong Anh, Hanoi... The carefully prepared activities attracted a large number of people and tourists to attend; created a vibrant atmosphere, spread the spirit of innovation in tourism development, contributing to promoting the image of a dynamic, friendly and richly unique Tuyen Quang.

The re-evaluation of Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark in 2026 has been carefully prepared in terms of documents, infrastructure and conservation work to maintain the UNESCO title, while enhancing the value of geological and ecological tourism, linking community tourism development with nature conservation.

Another important milestone is the Prime Minister's issuance of Decision No. 763/QD-TTg dated April 15, 2025, approving the task of planning the preservation, restoration and rehabilitation of the Na Hang-Lam Binh Nature Reserve. This is an important legal basis for the province to mobilize resources, invest in infrastructure, develop eco-tourism associated with natural environment conservation - towards building Na Hang-Lam Binh into a "green pearl" of northern mountainous tourism.

Along with that, Tuyen Quang has coordinated with the Swiss Federal Economic Directorate and the Helvetas Vietnam Project to start the project to restore, reconstruct and develop the cultural tourism village of Lung Hau village, Lung Tam commune. This is an important step to preserve the cultural space of the Mong ethnic group, create a highlight for community tourism, and contribute to building the brand "Cultural experience tourism in the rocky plateau."

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province strives to review and synthesize data on tourist areas and spots in the new Tuyen Quang province; conduct a vote for Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark as the leading regional cultural destination in Asia; implement the implementation of the Code of Conduct for civilized tourism activities, improve service quality and prepare for the peak of Thanh Tuyen Festival 2025. Coordinate with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism to inspect, work and survey a number of 1-3 star hotels in the province to develop national standards for Hotels - Ratings (review TCVN 4391: 2015)...

Tourism growth is remarkable

With the efforts, hard work, and strong direction of the province and the synchronous participation of all levels, sectors, organizations, businesses and people, tourism in Tuyen Quang after the merger has had remarkable growth.

According to statistics, in September 2025 alone, Tuyen Quang welcomed 323,452 visitors, of which 35,452 were international visitors; 288,000 were domestic visitors; total tourist spending in the area is estimated at VND 860.2 billion (of which international tourists were VND 146 billion and domestic tourists were VND 714.2 billion). Bringing the total number of tourists in the province in the first 9 months of 2025 to over 2,979,745, reaching 82.8% of the yearly plan. Of which 388,474 were international visitors and 2,591,274 were domestic visitors. Total tourist spending in the area is estimated at VND 8,026.2 billion (of which international visitors were VND 1,600 billion; domestic visitors were VND 6,426.2 billion), equal to 85.2% of the plan.

Key tourist areas and destinations such as Na Hang-Lam Binh Nature Reserve, Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark, My Lam Mineral Spring Tourist Area, Tan Trao Relic Site... are always crowded with visitors. In particular, community tourism associated with indigenous culture in the communes of Hoang Su Phi, Thong Nguyen, Lung Cu, Thuong Lam, Meo Vac, Xin Man, Thuan Hoa, Cao Bo... is increasingly popular.

Many new tourism products have been formed, bearing the imprint of local culture such as highland agricultural experience tourism, culinary tourism with Thuan Hoa green rice, Shan Tuyet tea, Dong Van Mint Honey...

Shine with international awards

In October 2025, Tuyen Quang tourism continuously received many prestigious regional and international awards, affirming the new position of the province's tourism industry on the international map.

Dong Van Karst Plateau UNESCO Global Geopark was awarded the title “Asia’s Leading Regional Cultural Destination 2025” by the World Travel Awards (WTA); Panhou Retreat Thong Nguyen, Tuyen Quang received the award “Asia’s Leading Green Resort 2025.” This is a prestigious category honoring destinations with outstanding achievements in preserving indigenous culture and developing sustainable tourism. Winning this award is considered a “brand passport,” opening up opportunities to promote the image of Tuyen Quang tourism to international friends.

Most recently, on October 17, in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province (China), the United Nations Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) announced the list of “Best Tourism Villages in the World in 2025”. Among them, Lo Lo Chai village, Lung Cu commune, Tuyen Quang province - was honored as the Best Tourism Village in the World in 2025.

This is the result of an evaluation process based on strict criteria on nature conservation, culture, community development and sustainable tourism. The honor of Lo Lo Chai village is not only a source of pride for the highland people but also contributes to enhancing the image of Tuyen Quang tourism - a friendly, unique and creative destination.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Ngoc, Director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, “Two consecutive international awards are clear evidence of Tuyen Quang’s right direction in developing green tourism, linking economic growth with the preservation of cultural and ecological values. This is also an important driving force for the province to continue investing in and exploiting the unique potential of the region after the merger.”

The outstanding results after the first 9 months of the year, along with prestigious international awards in October, have affirmed the new position of Tuyen Quang - a "both familiar and new" destination in the mountainous region of the Northeast.

To promote the achieved results, in the coming time, Tuyen Quang province will continue to effectively implement solutions to attract more tourists to Tuyen Quang.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Ngoc, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province, the industry will coordinate well in developing a detailed plan to organize the Trade Promotion Conference, connect trade, and support the consumption of products and goods of Tuyen Quang province in 2025; Plan and sign a contract to implement the project to organize the Vietnam-China International Trade Fair with the Trade Promotion Department and the project to propagate and raise public awareness of the province's tea products to domestic consumers. Strengthen communication activities, introduce, promote and deploy key products and OCOP products of the province through electronic applications.

The province also promotes tourism communication, strongly applies digital technology to attract domestic and international tourists; strengthens management, improves the quality of tourism products, and promotes linkages and develops new tourism products. Continues to implement tasks in the Plan to build and develop the Dong Van Karst Plateau Global Geopark for the period 2023-2026; well prepares for the 11th Buckwheat Flower Festival in 2026.../.
