An Giang Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department works at Tri Ton commune on religious and ethnic affairs

On November 4, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Thinh led a working delegation to survey ethnic and religious work in 2025 in Tri Ton commune. Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Tri Ton commune Lam Thanh Si received and worked with the delegation.

After the merger, Tri Ton commune has a population of 50,716 people and 9,725 households. There are 3 ethnic groups living together in the commune (Kinh, Khmer, Hoa), of which the Khmer people account for 46.80%. The commune has 19 hamlets, 3 hamlets in extremely difficult areas, 16 hamlets in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2021 - 2025.

In the commune, there are 19 religious worship establishments (5 Northern Buddhist worship establishments and 14 Khmer Southern Buddhist worship establishments).

Since the merger, Tri Ton commune has organized 33 propaganda campaigns on the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State to ethnic and religious people, with 2,610 people participating; distributed nearly 3,100 gifts to poor and near-poor households worth over 1 billion VND; awarded 50 bicycles, 50 scholarships and 3,150 notebooks to poor students, worth over 532 million VND.

The commune inaugurated a traffic bridge worth 640 million VND; built 6 new Great Unity houses worth 200 million VND; implemented the model of "Solar-powered lighting" with a length of 2,500m, installed 40 lamp posts... from socialized sources.

Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Huu Thinh delivered a concluding speech.

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Huu Thinh requested Tri Ton commune to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity, proactiveness and creativity in performing tasks; enhancing the grasp of social thoughts and moods, promptly resolving arising issues right at the grassroots level.

Strengthening the management of ethnic and religious affairs in the locality; promoting propaganda on religion and ethnicity to believers to grasp and properly implement the Party and State's policies and guidelines. At the same time, resolutely and strictly handle establishments of worship, belief, religion, ethnicity that do not properly comply with the State's policies and laws...
