At noon on November 6, the weather in Da Nang was gloomy, the coastal area of ​​Son Tra ward had light rain, the wind was not strong, the waves were 0.5-1m high, the water was murky. Fishermen were busy bringing the last boats ashore to avoid storm Kalmaegi (storm number 13).

At Man Thai beach, around 10am the same day, many fishermen took advantage of the opportunity to bring their nets to the sea to fish. Some waded out into the high wave area to spread their nets.

Meanwhile, there was no wind or heavy rain so tourists still kept their habit of going to the beach to walk around and exercise. Some foreign tourists also surfed, thinking that this was the right wave level to experience this sport .

According to the forecast of the Central Central Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of storm Kalmaegi, the coast of Da Nang will have rising water due to strong winds, 0.5-1m high.

This unit warns of rising sea levels accompanied by big waves causing flooding in low-lying areas, waves overflowing dikes, coastal roads, coastal landslides, slowing flood drainage in the area.

All ships, boats, and aquaculture areas in dangerous areas are strongly affected by storms, whirlwinds, strong winds, big waves, and rising sea levels.

On November 6-7, in the communes and wards of Da Nang city, it is also forecasted that there will be a large-scale heavy rain.

Previously, the People's Committee of Da Nang city issued a document directing units to urgently develop specific plans to respond to storm Kalmaegi.

The city assigned the Military Command, the Police, departments, branches, and People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to urgently inspect and review areas and locations at risk of landslides, flooding, and severe flash floods to evacuate and relocate people to safe places. The relocation must be completed before the afternoon of November 6.

Mr. Briu Quan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Avuong commune, said that the locality has made a list and is focusing on arranging and evacuating people to prevent storm Kalmaegi, landslides, and floods, and will complete it by the afternoon of November 6.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting at 7:00 a.m. on November 6, the center of storm Kalmaegi was about 330km east-southeast of Quy Nhon (Gia Lai).

The strongest wind near the storm center is level 14 (150-166km/h), gusting to level 17. In the next 12 hours, the storm will move steadily in the West Northwest direction, at a speed of about 25km/h.

At 7:00 p.m. the same day, on the coastal area of ​​Quang Ngai - Dak Lak, the intensity was level 13, gusting to level 17 and moving deep inland.

At 7:00 a.m. on November 7, the storm was in the southern Laos area and weakened into a tropical depression.

The Japan Meteorological Agency said that the strongest wind near the center of typhoon Kalmaegi is currently up to 157km/h. The station forecasts that by the evening of November 6, the storm will reach its peak with winds of up to 176km/h and then weaken, moving deep into the central mainland.

According to the Hong Kong Meteorological Department (China), the strongest wind near the storm's eye is at 160km/h, reaching its peak this evening with winds up to nearly 180km/h and then gradually weakening as it approaches the mainland of Quang Ngai - Gia Lai.
