On the morning of June 2nd, the State Bank of Vietnam announced the central exchange rate between VND and USD at 25,141 dong, an increase of 3 dong compared to yesterday. Immediately afterwards, the USD price at commercial banks also rose simultaneously. Specifically, Vietcombank increased by 4 dong, bringing the buying price for transfers to 26,118 dong and the selling price to 26,398 dong;ACB Bank increased by 30 dong in the buying price for transfers to 26,140 dong and by 4 dong in the selling price to 26,398 dong…

Meanwhile, the free market exchange rate for the US dollar also increased slightly, with buying rates at 26,240 VND and selling rates at 26,340 VND, 5 VND higher than yesterday.

The US dollar continues to rise globally . The USD-Index reached 99.20 points, up 0.14 points from yesterday. The greenback surged as fighting in the Middle East continues. Yesterday, US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to cease hostilities. The US leader said he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and had a "very good phone call" through unnamed Hezbollah representatives. However, shortly afterward, the Lebanese national news agency reported on June 1st about Israeli attacks on several southern areas, and according to AFP, "a very powerful explosion" rocked the town of Debbine.

Oil prices continue to rise, fueling concerns that the Iran conflict could increase inflationary pressure, forcing central banks to raise interest rates to curb the price surge. According to CME Group's FedWatch tool, the market is forecasting a 56% probability that the US Federal Reserve will raise interest rates at least once between now and the end of the year. Jim Wyckoff, an analyst at American Gold Exchange, commented on CNBC that expectations of high interest rates for a much longer period are likely to continue putting pressure on gold prices, unless bond yields stop rising and interest rates begin to stabilize or fall.
