Compared with the domestic SJC gold bar price on the same day (115.7-118.5 million VND/tael), the SJC gold price is currently about 17.3 million higher than the international gold price.
The world gold price yesterday, May 17, 2025, recorded a sharp decline, marking the worst week in the past 6 months. As of 16:33 (GMT), the spot gold price decreased by 0.9%, down to 3,210.19 USD/ounce. Overall, the gold price lost more than 3% of its value for the week, the sharpest decline since November 2024.
The main reason for the sharp decline in gold prices was the strengthening of the US dollar and positive signals from the interim trade deal between the US and China.
