Gold and USD prices both increase, oil decreases

At the end of the trading session on June 10, the buying price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Ho Chi Minh City was 66.5 million VND per tael and the selling price was 67.15 million VND per tael. The buying price of 4-digit 9 gold bars at SJC Hanoi was listed at 66.5 million VND per tael and the selling price was 67.17 million VND.

Doji Hanoi listed at 66.45 million VND per tael for buying and 67.05 million VND per tael for selling.

On the world market, the spot gold price on the night of June 10, Vietnam time, was trading around 1,960.7 USD per ounce. The futures gold price was trading at 1,977.2 USD per ounce.

Gold prices on the world market ended the second consecutive week of increase. Investors and the market are waiting for the decision of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) next week.

The Fed is still likely to raise interest rates. Many analysts expect the Fed to pause interest rates in June but do not rule out the possibility of further rate hikes this summer. This has a strong impact on gold prices.

In the short term, analysts say gold still faces many risks. The Fed's interest rate hike and higher USD put pressure on the precious metal.

On the stock market , in the trading session on June 9, VN-Index increased slightly. At the end of the trading session, VN-Index increased by 6.21 points, to 1,107.53 points. HNX-Index increased by 0.82 points, to 227.6 points. UPCoM-Index increased by 0.17 points, to 84.19 points.

Regarding the dollar price , the exchange rate of Vietnamese Dong against the US dollar was listed by the State Bank on June 10 at 23,717 VND per USD, an increase of 3 VND compared to the previous day.

The reference exchange rate at the State Bank of Vietnam on June 10 was 23,400 VND for buying and 24,852 VND for selling. The USD price at commercial banks on June 10 was traded around 23,280 VND for buying and 23,650 VND for selling.

Globally, the US dollar continued to rise slightly. The DXY index - measuring the strength of the USD against six major currencies - ended the week at 103.55 points, up 0.2% from the previous session.

Global oil prices have experienced a week of decline due to increasing concerns about weakening demand. Brent crude oil prices ended the week at $74.79 per barrel, while WTI crude oil prices fell to $70.17 per barrel.

In the domestic market, the selling prices of gasoline and oil today are applied according to the prices at the management session on the afternoon of June 1 of the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade.

Specifically, the price of RON 95 gasoline increased to VND22,010 per liter. The price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased to VND20,870 per liter. The price of diesel oil decreased to VND17,940 per liter. The price of kerosene decreased to VND17,770 per liter.
