In recent days, preparations for the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd have been bustling in Hanoi and several northern localities, creating great excitement among people nationwide.

At this time, many people have already booked flights and tours to Hanoi for the September 2nd holiday to watch the parade and march celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd.

Airfare to Hanoi during the September 2nd holiday is the same as during the Lunar New Year.

On August 8th, according to observations by reporters from Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, many airlines such as Vietnam Airlines , Vietjet, Bamboo Airways, and Vietravel Airlines are selling numerous tickets for the Ho Chi Minh City - Hanoi route during the September 2nd holiday.

Specifically, for the Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi leg, if passengers depart on August 30th, the current ticket price offered by Vietnam Airlines starts from 3.79 million VND/segment (including taxes and fees).

If the flight includes a stopover from Ho Chi Minh City to Cam Ranh, followed by a connecting flight to Hanoi, Vietnam Airlines is currently selling tickets for at least 3.64 million VND per leg.

If you fly from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi departing on August 31st (Sunday), ticket prices have cooled down but are still very high, such as Pacific Airlines selling tickets from 2.8 million VND/one-way; while Vietnam Airlines charges a high price of 3.79 million VND/one-way.

Many people have said they have booked flights and hotels to go to Hanoi for the September 2nd holiday, combining it with watching the parade and march celebrating National Day.

On Vietjet's website, many tickets for flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi are also being offered for sale, with the lowest price being around 5.4 million VND round trip/passenger during the September 2nd holiday.

Similarly, Bamboo Airways is also selling tickets for passengers traveling from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi during the holiday period, but the lowest fare is still as high as 6.8 million VND round trip per passenger.

In general, airfares for the September 2nd holiday offered by airlines are on par with Tet holiday fares, and significantly higher than on regular days. This is due to the huge demand from residents and tourists from Ho Chi Minh City and the central and southern provinces who are flocking to Hanoi for the September 2nd holiday to watch the parade and march.

According to the latest data from the travel platform Booking.com, Hanoi is currently the most searched-for destination by Vietnamese travelers during the National Day holiday (August 29th to September 3rd, 2025). This destination has risen from 7th to 1st place compared to the same period last year.

Hanoi's increasing appeal is evident across all tourist groups, with the capital leading in search volume among family travelers (up from 14th place), friends (up from 9th place), couples (up from 7th place), and solo travelers (up from 2nd place).

This long National Day holiday will be celebrated solemnly in Hanoi with a series of large-scale activities. Highlights include the preliminary parade rehearsal on August 27th, the final rehearsal on August 30th, and the official state parade on September 2nd.

The lowest one-way airfare from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi is approximately 3.37 million VND.

At the regular government press conference on August 7-8, the Ministry of National Defense provided information on preparations for the parade and march commemorating the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2nd. According to the leaders of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army, the organization of the parade and march during the anniversary celebration has been assigned by the Central Committee to the Ministry of National Defense, in coordination with the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city of Hanoi, and other relevant ministries, agencies, and units. The parade will take place at Ba Dinh Square on the morning of September 2nd.

Six forces will participate in the parade and march: the traditional torch relay and ceremonial fire honor guard; the ceremonial artillery force; the air force flying a welcoming flight; the marching and parade force; the military artillery and special police vehicle force; and the naval parade force…
