World oil prices fall due to concerns about new tax policy from the US
On the morning of August 1 (Vietnam time), Brent oil price decreased by 0.67% to 72.74 USD/barrel, while WTI oil price decreased by 1.89% to 68.74 USD/barrel.
The main reason comes from the US announcement that it will impose high tariffs on trading partners that have not reached an agreement, increasing concerns about risks to global supply and demand.
US President Donald Trump has warned that the US will impose 100% tariffs if Russia does not make progress in ending the conflict in Ukraine within 10-12 days. The US has also issued a similar warning to China – the largest importer of Russian oil.
Separately, new data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) showed crude inventories rose by 7.7 million barrels – much larger than expected – due to slowing exports. However, gasoline inventories fell by 2.7 million barrels, reflecting higher summer demand.
Domestic gasoline prices increased slightly from the afternoon of July 31
From 3:00 p.m. on July 31, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance will adjust domestic gasoline prices as follows:

World oil prices fluctuate
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that world oil prices have fluctuated recently due to many factors: the prolonged Russia-Ukraine conflict, increased oil inventories in the US, and new policy moves from the US on trade and tariffs.
The average price of finished petroleum products in the world during this management period (July 24-30, 2025) recorded a slight increase for gasoline and kerosene. Diesel oil decreased by 0.5%, while fuel oil increased by 1.2%.
