Gasoline price today June 27, 2025 on the world market
Oil prices edged higher on June 26, buoyed by a drop in U.S. crude inventories that reflects increased summer demand. Although concerns about supply disruptions from the Middle East have eased, they still have a restraining effect on oil prices.
According to Reuters, at the end of the trading session on June 26, Brent crude oil prices increased by 0.05 USD/barrel, equivalent to 0.07%, to 67.73 USD/barrel. Meanwhile, WTI crude oil prices also increased by 0.32 USD/barrel, equivalent to 0.49%, to 65.24 USD/barrel. Both types of oil recovered after falling earlier in the week, thanks to data showing that gasoline demand in the US remained high. However, Brent crude oil prices are still lower than the closing price of 69.36 USD/barrel on June 12, before Israel launched airstrikes on Iran.
Another factor supporting oil prices is the weakness of the US dollar (DXY), an index that measures the greenback’s strength against a basket of major currencies. The dollar fell to a three-year low after reports that US President Donald Trump is considering a new Federal Reserve chairman sooner than expected, fueling expectations of an interest rate cut. A weaker US dollar makes oil cheaper for holders of other currencies, boosting demand for oil.
