At 3:00 p.m. on July 31, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Finance adjusted the prices of gasoline and oil products, except diesel.
Specifically, the regulatory agency decided to increase the price of E5RON92 gasoline by VND122/liter compared to the previous period, to VND19,401/liter (increased); RON95-III gasoline increased by VND131/liter, to VND19,840/liter.

In contrast, diesel 0.05S decreased by 61 VND/liter compared to the previous period, to 19,068 VND/liter. However, kerosene increased by 86 VND/liter compared to the previous period, to 18,714 VND/liter; fuel oil 180CST 3.5S increased by 154 VND/kg, to 15,533 VND/kg.
In this management period, the Joint Ministry continues not to set aside or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund for any products.
The time to apply the new base price will last until the next announcement period of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Enterprises will adjust prices in accordance with the provisions of current Decrees and Circulars on the management of petroleum business and the use of the Price Stabilization Fund.
Thus, domestic gasoline prices have increased again after two consecutive decreases. Since the beginning of the year, RON 95 gasoline has increased 17 times and decreased 15 times.
Gasoline prices increase following the increase in world oil prices
Previously on July 24, the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance reduced gasoline prices, accordingly, E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 202 VND/liter compared to the previous period, to 19,279 VND/liter. RON95-III gasoline decreased by 202 VND/liter compared to the previous period, to 19,709 VND/liter. Meanwhile, oil products increased from 199 - 330 VND/liter.
On the world market, at 6:22 a.m. on July 31 (Vietnam time) on Tranding Economics, WTI oil price was trading at 70.3 USD/barrel, up sharply by 1.1 USD/barrel, equivalent to a 1.6% increase on the day. Light sweet Brent crude oil jumped to 73.46 USD/barrel, up nearly 1 USD/barrel, equivalent to a 1.3% increase.
World crude oil prices in July increased sharply compared to the previous month, in which WTI oil increased by 7.4% and Brent oil increased by 9.5% compared to the previous month. Compared to the same period last year, with the current increase, crude oil prices decreased by more than 9% compared to the same period last year.
