Ba Be Lake Running Race

The athletes in the 21km race started at dawn on December 8th.

The race around Ba Be Lake was an exciting experience for the athletes. With thorough preparation from the Organizing Committee, the athletes completed their distance with a spirit of solidarity, honesty, sportsmanship, and high determination.

The Organizing Committee presented commemorative medals to all athletes who completed the race distances and awarded prizes to the top-performing athletes. In the 21km race, for women, the Organizing Committee awarded the Gold Medal to Hoang Thi Hong Ngoc from Ha Nam province; the Silver Medal to Dong Thi Mong Tho from Thai Nguyen; and the Bronze Medal to Pham Thi My Duyen from Thai Nguyen. For men, Truong Van Quan from Thai Nguyen won the Gold Medal; Pham Van Dong from Lang Son won the Silver Medal; and Tran Le Hoang from Thai Nguyen won the Bronze Medal.

The Organizing Committee awarded medals to the male athletes in the 21 km race.

In the 10km race, for women, the Organizing Committee awarded the Gold Medal to athlete Vang Thi Dau and the Silver Medal to athlete Ly Mui Ghen from Cao Bang province; and the Bronze Medal to athlete Ngo Ngoc Diep from Thai Nguyen. For men, the Gold Medal went to athlete Vu Manh Hung from Ha Nam; the Silver Medal went to athlete Nong Duc Thuat from Bac Kan; and the Bronze Medal went to athlete Nguyen Van Quy from Lang Son.

The Organizing Committee awarded medals to the female athletes in the 5km race.

In the 5km race, for women, the Gold Medal was awarded to athlete Tran Thi Phuong Thao from Yen Phong Runner Club; the Silver Medal to athlete Lanh Thi Hoa from Cao Bang province; and the Bronze Medal to athlete Phan Thi Huyen from Yen Phong Runner Club. For men, the Gold Medal was awarded to athlete Sam Huan from Thai Nguyen ; the Silver Medal to athlete Nguyen Minh Huy from Yen Phong Runner Club; and the Bronze Medal to athlete Nguyen Viet Hoang from Jaccsr Runner Club.

In addition, for each distance and event, the Organizing Committee awarded 7 consolation prizes to the top 10 athletes.

The 2024 Ba Be Lake - Bac Kan Open Running Race is a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024), and to further promote the "National Movement for Physical Training Following the Example of the Great President Ho Chi Minh". Through this race, we aim to expand cooperation and cultural, sports, and tourism exchanges among athletes from provinces and cities nationwide; promote the beauty of Ba Be Lake; enhance Bac Kan's position on the Vietnamese tourism map; and thereby boost local economic development through the interplay between sports and tourism.
