Ca Mau Marathon 2024 - PETROVIETNAM Cup: Ca Mau Rendezvous

On the morning of November 10, 2024, more than 6,000 athletes welcomed the first rays of sunlight shining on the southernmost land of the Fatherland in the bustling and exciting atmosphere of the 2024 Ca Mau Marathon - PETROVIETNAM Cup.

The 2024 Ca Mau Marathon – PETROVIETNAM Cup is an annual race following the success of the previous 2 years, with the theme “Ca Mau Rendezvous” and the message “Ca Mau is a safe destination, a place with amazing natural landscapes, fresh climate, a land with gentle, kind and hospitable people”. The race has attracted many male and female athletes of all ages with various distances from 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km. In addition, the organizers also created conditions for young athletes with distances of 1.2km and 2.4km.

The routes the athletes passed through bear the mark of the southernmost land of the Fatherland.

The special thing in 2024 is that the race is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Northward Rally (1954 - 2024) to review the historical, cultural and heroic revolutionary traditions of the people of Ca Mau province.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Tran Hieu Hung - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, said: "The Ca Mau Marathon 2024 - PETROVIETNAM Cup was organized on an expanded provincial scale, with the theme "Ca Mau Rendezvous" attracting over 10,000 visitors, tourists, domestic and foreign athletes and a large number of local people to participate, watch and cheer, including over 6,000 athletes competing; local and central newspaper and radio reporters reported, contributing to promoting and introducing the province's tourism potential and strengths to domestic and foreign tourists".

The 2024 Ca Mau Marathon is organized by the People's Committee of Ca Mau province with the support of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PETROVIETNAM), diamond sponsors include: Ca Mau Petroleum Fertilizer Joint Stock Company; Vietnam Oil and Gas Power Corporation and Vietnam Gas Corporation. In addition, there are many co-sponsors inside and outside the province with the support of singer Tung Duong, the media ambassador for the 2024 race.

The race is a useful sports playground that helps nurture the sports spirit and love of nature of people inside and outside the province, while also helping to promote tourism, bringing traditional values and cultural beauty of Ca Mau province to people in all regions of the country./.
