Speaking to VietNamNet, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Director of the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center, Institute of Earth Sciences (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), said that the earthquake in Myanmar was very strong.

Accordingly, at 1:20 PM on March 28th, an earthquake occurred in Myanmar at coordinates 21.71N - 96.02E. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.7 on the Richter scale and a focal depth of 10km. Therefore, the affected area was very wide.

"Hanoi is an area with many high-rise buildings. Typically, high-rise buildings are more susceptible to shaking from distant earthquakes," Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh explained.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, because this earthquake was far away, Hanoi and some other localities were only slightly affected. However, he warned: "People should still monitor the situation and be cautious."

Currently, the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center is continuing to closely monitor the situation.

Regarding this earthquake, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has just announced that a 7.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in central Myanmar. In India, people may also have felt the tremors.

The USGS reported that the earthquake occurred 16km northwest of Sagaing town, Myanmar, at a depth of 10km, at approximately 12:50 local time today (March 28).

Similarly, in Thailand, preliminary reports indicate that air raid sirens blared in high-rise buildings in Bangkok around 1:30 PM. Residents and guests in apartment buildings and hotels in Bangkok panicked and ran into the streets.

The earthquake was so strong that water splashed out of swimming pools in high-rise buildings. There were no immediate reports of casualties.

On Chinese social media, many people in Yunnan and Shaanxi provinces reported feeling the tremors as well.

Meanwhile in Vietnam, at around 1:30 PM today, many residents living in apartment buildings in Thanh Xuan, Ha Dong, and Hai Ba Trung districts (Hanoi) felt their buildings shaking and experienced dizziness, similar to symptoms of low blood pressure.

According to a representative from the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center (Institute of Earth Sciences), at 1:20 PM on the same day, an earthquake occurred at coordinates 21.71N - 96.02E, with a focal depth of 10km in Myanmar, which affected Vietnam.

"The level of natural disaster risk is level 0," a representative from the Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center stated.
