NDO - Within the framework of the colorful 2024 Creative Design Festival, one destination that attracted much attention was the former University of Hanoi, now the University of Natural Sciences, a century-old architectural icon revived by creative art.

The University building was designed by the renowned architect Ernest Hébrard in the Indochinese style, which is both classical and distinctly East Asian.

With the exhibition "Indochina Sense," this century-old school seems to be a blend of historical space and contemporary creative spirit.

At the 2024 Creative Design Festival, the "Indochina Sense" exhibition offered the public the first opportunity to step into the century-old space of this building and experience a series of vibrant artistic activities.

University of Hanoi:

Right from the main entrance, visitors are captivated by the dazzling, colorful arched windows, creating a giant "glass painting."

In recent days, images of the building's famous dome have gone viral on social media, attracting many young people to come and admire it.

University of Hanoi:

Throughout the space, from the main lobby to the corridors and the biology museum, creative works combined with ancient architecture have transformed this place into a unique destination.

University of Hanoi:

To ensure a pleasant experience, each visit is limited to approximately 15 people and lasts from 7-10 minutes. Despite the wait, young people patiently queue up to experience this unique art space.

One of the main highlights of "Indochina Sense" is the series of interactive artworks, creating a fascinating "dialogue" with classical Indochinese architecture.

Artists such as Pham Trung Hung, Tran Hau Yen The, and Le Phuoc Anh transformed the building into a space overflowing with light and color. In particular, the image of two ancient phoenixes was vividly recreated using 3D mapping technology, serving as a reminder of the school's glorious past and making a strong impression on young people.

University of Hanoi:

Upon entering the main hall, Tran Hau Yen The's light installations in the glass windows on the walls, mimicking Indochinese patterns, symbolize the spread of knowledge.

The light shining through the glass frame illuminates the lobby space, evoking the image of the light of knowledge.

University of Hanoi:

At the biology museum – a “magical place” for every child who loves to explore – creative artworks are arranged and combined with scientific specimens to create a novel experience.

The exhibition also features installations in the corridors and museum, such as silk paintings of insect fossils by artist Nguyen Thu Thao, paintings on Do paper by Nguyen Cam Nhung, and blue-glazed ceramic samples by Nguyen Thu Thuy - all inspired by Indochina-era decorative art, creating a rich and captivating cultural space.

University of Hanoi:

From the exhibited works to the ancient architectural spaces, the former University has become a "sanctuary of knowledge" awakened by creative art, where the past and present meet, allowing every participant to feel its timeless beauty.

This festival has been reviving the spirit of Indochina, connecting today's generation with the values of a golden age.

The art exhibition runs until November 17, 2024.

University of Hanoi:

The Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024, themed "Creative Crossroads," took place at various locations such as the University of Hanoi, the August Revolution Square, and stretched along famous streets like Ly Thai To, Le Thanh Tong, and Bac Co slope.

Famous historical landmarks such as the Hanoi Children's Palace, the Hanoi Opera House, and the National Museum of History were also decorated and participated in this series of events. It is evident that the event provided a unique experiential space, helping the community to appreciate history more and inspiring creativity, contributing to the preservation and promotion of the traditional cultural values of the capital city.
