Professor, Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao was born in 1979, originally from Hanoi. He graduated with a PhD in Economics , Finance and Banking in 2009 and was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2015.
In 2023, he was recognized and appointed to the title of Professor. To date, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao has more than 20 years of experience in teaching, scientific research and university education management.
Before being recognized as Chairman of the Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics for the 2025-2030 term, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao had held many positions such as: Head of the Finance Department (2016); Head of Training Department (2020); Vice Principal of the School of Technology and Design, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (2021); Vice Principal and then Vice Director of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (2022).
In June 2025, at the Party Congress of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics for the 2025-2030 term, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao was elected Secretary of the Party Committee of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics.
The Minister of Education and Training also signed Decision No. 2318/QD-BGDDT on recognizing the University Council, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics for the 2025-2030 term with 27 members.
