For the past two days, a clip has been circulating on social media of a nearly 3-year-old boy running home in panic, calling for help from his relatives. The boy then points to and leads an adult to a water hole to help another child get to shore.

The clip was shared by many people and many forums, praising the child's brave and quick-witted actions. Later, another clip appeared on another home camera, showing that before running home to call adults to save his friend, the child tried to save his friend but failed. Fortunately, the child did not fall into the water hole with his friend, but ran back to call adults in time.
On the afternoon of April 7, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (41 years old, commonly known as Nguyen Quan Dung) said that the clip was taken from his family's camera (in Nghi Dien commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An ) at around 1:00 p.m. on April 5.
The 3-year-old boy in the clip is Nguyen Nam Phong, the adopted son of Mr. Thanh's family. When Mr. Thanh's family had guests over and everyone was talking in the front yard, Nam Phong ran back to call for help. Thanks to Nam Phong's actions, the nearly 5-year-old boy was saved in time.
In 2022, two-day-old baby Nam Phong was abandoned by his mother on the side of the road - in front of Mr. Thanh's house with a note asking him and his wife to raise the baby.
Mr. Thanh said: “My husband and I have four children and adopted him as our fifth child and named him Nam Phong. He was abandoned at birth, so we have given him a lot of love and care to make up for it. My husband and I have raised young children, so we have experience in taking care of newborns. Nam Phong is also easy to raise, smart and loves his father very much.”
Now Nam Phong is famous for his quick-witted actions and saving his friend, someone has expressed interest in recognizing Nam Phong's biological father and wants to take the child back.
Mr. Thanh shared his feelings: “I really don’t know what to do now, Nguyen Nam Phong. If I let you go back to your biological father now, will you be happy…? I’m afraid that I’ll accidentally push you into a situation you don’t want, and I’m also afraid that your life will not be balanced, because I think you’ve been used to my way of teaching since you were little. Now suddenly a stranger comes in and takes you away, and I’m sure that you will be shocked and your life in the future will be affected in many ways…”.
This afternoon, Mr. Thanh added: “We decided to raise our child until he grows up first and then think about it later. Now that we are sending him back to his biological father, we are afraid that he will be shocked and scared. We are giving Nam Phong enough love. Currently, we have not seen his biological mother come to see him.”
According to Mr. Thanh, when Nam Phong grows up and is aware enough, he will not prevent his child from coming to his biological parents.
