In early January 2026, Bat Trang Primary School launched the "Collecting Bottles and Plastic Bottles for Charity Fundraising" program, attracting 100% student participation. From early morning, the children were enthusiastic; some brought empty beer cans, plastic bottles, and jars, while others brought old, unused books and notebooks to donate. This practical activity, organized by the school in coordination with the SOS An Lao Charity Group during the end of the year and the Lunar New Year, contributes to educating children about environmental protection and fostering compassion.

Nguyen Hoai An, a student in class 4C, shared: "I am very happy to contribute a small part to help those in need, and it helps me understand more about how to express love and compassion."

All the money from selling scrap metal is used by the SOS An Lão Volunteer Group to give gifts to poor households, students, and children with special difficulties in the city.

Mr. Chu The Hung, Principal of Bat Trang Primary School, said that the school always pays attention to and implements the education of compassion for students regularly and systematically, linking it with practical experiences. Following the direction of the Department of Education and Training, in November 2025, the school collaborated with the Vietnam Humanitarian Career Guidance and Employment Company for People with Disabilities to organize a charitable cultural exchange program called "Songs from the Heart." The program featured poetry and circus performances by people with disabilities, helping students to admire the willpower and resilience of those who overcome adversity. At the program, teachers and students voluntarily donated approximately 10 million VND.

In addition, the campaign "Contributing small amounts of money for a great cause, giving gifts at the beginning of the year to help poor students and victims of Agent Orange" has been regularly maintained by Bat Trang Primary School for many years. In the 2024-2025 school year alone, the fund raised over 17 million VND to organize humanitarian and charitable activities, providing timely support to poor students to help them excel in their studies. Responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of An Truong commune to support people in Central and Central Highlands regions affected by natural disasters and floods, the school also mobilized the active participation of all staff, teachers, students, and parents to contribute over 38 million VND.

In addition to supporting those in need, the charitable movement at Bat Trang Primary School also focuses on caring for students within the school itself who unfortunately face disadvantaged circumstances.

In the 2025-2026 school year, Bat Trang Primary School will have approximately 50-60 students from disadvantaged backgrounds, many of whom are orphans, have divorced parents, or currently live with elderly grandparents. Since the beginning of the year, the school has reviewed and categorized each case based on confirmation from the local authorities to provide timely support. For students from poor and near-poor households, the school proactively mobilizes partner organizations to provide support by waiving or reducing some tuition fees, further motivating them to excel in their studies and personal development. During the opening ceremony and Mid-Autumn Festival, the school provides gifts to underprivileged students in appropriate ways to encourage and motivate them.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026 (Year of the Horse), the school continues to solicit donations from benefactors to provide 50 gift packages, each worth 100,000 to 200,000 VND, to disadvantaged students, helping them to have a happier and warmer Tet holiday.

According to Vu Trong Dung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Truong commune, through humanitarian and charitable activities, Bat Trang Primary School not only cares for and provides material support to disadvantaged students but also educates them on ethics, lifestyle, and fosters compassion. The local government acknowledges this and will continue to support and create conditions for the school to maintain and expand its charitable activities in the future.

Through small but practical actions, Bat Trang Primary School has been contributing to building a compassionate educational environment where students are trained and develop good qualities.
