Quang Ninh is a province where many ethnic groups live together. Each ethnic group has its own unique traditions and culture, preserved and passed down, creating diversity, richness, and a strong sense of identity. To preserve and promote these traditional values, many schools have focused on teaching and educating students about cultural values through creative models and approaches.

Every Friday afternoon, Tan Dan Primary and Secondary School (Quang La commune) collaborates with members of the Dao Thanh Phan Ethnic Culture Preservation Club to organize classes teaching traditional writing and embroidery to students. Every stitch, the meaning of the patterns on traditional clothing, and the ancient script are meticulously explained and taught to the students by skilled artisans. These embroidery and Dao Thanh Phan script classes at the school are spreading a strong love for traditional culture among the younger generation, attracting more and more students. Currently, the traditional clothing embroidery class has 34 students, while the Dao language class has 66 regular participants. This is not only an extracurricular activity but also plays a crucial role in educating students about love and pride in their ethnic identity.
Ban Thi Anh Thu (a student in grade 8 at Tan Dan Primary and Secondary School) said: “Previously, I didn't know how to embroider the traditional costumes of my ethnic group. After attending the classes for a while, I can now embroider patterns like birds, marigolds, and pine trees. Through these lessons, I am even more proud of the traditional cultural values of our Dao Thanh Phan ethnic group.”
According to Trinh Thi Thuong, Deputy Head of the Dao Thanh Phan Ethnic Culture Preservation Club (Quang La commune): “Initially, many students were shy, but now they actively participate in embroidery and literacy classes. This motivates us to continue cooperating with the school, accompanying the students, and contributing to the preservation of the beautiful traditional culture of the Dao Thanh Phan ethnic group.”

At Vo Ngai Primary and Secondary School (Binh Lieu commune), the preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values are given special attention. Driven by the desire to bring traditional culture closer to students, the school has established folk culture clubs and a Tay folk singing club, teaching them Tay folk singing and playing the zither. To ensure effectiveness, the main "instructors" are dedicated local artisans invited by the school to directly participate in teaching.
According to Vi Thi Thu, Vice Principal of Vo Ngai Primary and Secondary School: “Given the unique characteristics of our multi-level school with nearly 730 students, 97% of whom are ethnic minorities, the school always considers preserving and promoting traditional culture as a task alongside teaching. Beyond simply imparting knowledge, the clubs maintained by the school have effectively contributed to keeping the flame of traditional ethnic culture alive, ensuring that these beautiful cultural values continue to be passed on and spread.”
Integrating content on preserving the cultural identity of ethnic groups into schools is increasingly being implemented throughout the province, especially in schools in mountainous areas. Through many effective models and creative approaches, students have gained a better understanding and greater pride in the culture of their ethnic communities. This will enable each student to become an "ambassador" in preserving and promoting traditional cultural values, contributing to their dissemination and development in modern life.
