The exhibition introduces more than 300 images, documents, and artifacts, with the following topics: Agent Orange disaster, Agent Orange pain; Vietnam overcomes the consequences of chemical warfare; Activities of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin and the journey to demand justice for Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin; Examples of overcoming difficulties, "Golden hearts" for Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin; Military Region 7 and Lam Dong province overcome the Agent Orange disaster, care for and help victims and activities of the Lam Dong Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin; introduces more than 100 books, newspapers, and magazines; shows documentary films on the topic: Chemical warfare conducted by the US in Vietnam and the work of overcoming the consequences, caring for and helping Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin. Through the exhibition, viewers will better understand the consequences of Agent Orange/dioxin on the environment and human health; The efforts of the Party, the State, the Army, the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin and Lam Dong Province, the participation of the whole society, the joint efforts of international friends in overcoming the consequences of toxic chemicals/dioxin after the war. Viewers will also understand more clearly about the efforts of Agent Orange victims to overcome difficulties and reintegrate into the community.
The exhibition is organized to promote awareness among people at home and abroad about the consequences of Agent Orange/dioxin on the environment and human health, and to spread Vietnam's efforts to overcome the consequences caused by Agent Orange after the war.
At the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General Dang Nam Dien, Vice President - General Secretary of the Vietnam Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, affirmed that the Exhibition is a message to international friends about the Vietnamese people's desire for peace and opposition to war. For over 60 years, the Vietnamese people have been suffering from an unprecedented Agent Orange disaster in human history, exposing 4.8 million people, causing more than 3 million victims, and having long-term impacts on the environment and ecosystem.
Also at the opening ceremony, Mr. Pham Trieu, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, called on all levels, sectors, and organizations to continue to join hands to care for, help, and accompany Agent Orange victims on a long and challenging journey. On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented gifts and supported the construction of houses of gratitude for victims and families of Agent Orange victims in Lam Dong province with an amount of nearly 650 million VND from socialized sources. The exhibition is open to the public and visitors until October 25, 2023./.
