Over the past period, women's associations at all levels in the province have adopted many creative approaches in implementing Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU, dated January 30, 2019, of the 19th Provincial Party Committee on "Strengthening education and promoting the cultural, historical, patriotic, and revolutionary traditions of Thai Binh province for cadres, Party members, and all strata of the people," in conjunction with various campaigns and emulation movements, creating widespread impact and bringing practical results.

Spreading traditional values
In Viet Thuan commune (Vu Thu district), Ms. Luu Thi Bich Nhuong, Head of the Women's Club for Traditional Cheo Art, is entrusted with the task of writing new lyrics for Cheo performances and directing the choreography of songs and dances. She said: "The Women's Club for Traditional Cheo Art was established in 2016, and the 'fire of Cheo' is still preserved and promoted by the members, especially during festivals. After hard work, every weekend the Club organizes activities for the women to socialize, practice Cheo melodies, and integrate them into the activities of the association. Thanks to this, the movements and work of the association have become more diverse and effective."
Along with Viet Thuan, in many localities throughout the province, as the melodies of Cheo opera resonate, women and amateur artists have been bringing Cheo art into daily life, preserving and developing the traditional culture of their homeland.
Women members in the province also participate in building the culture and character of Thai Binh from within the family, linked to the role and responsibilities of women. Traditional family values such as fidelity, harmony, filial piety, civic duty, awareness of law compliance, love for homeland and country... are nurtured in each home, from the teachings of grandmothers, wives, and mothers. Amidst the whirlwind of modern life, the spirit of mutual support and solidarity, "distant relatives are not as good as close neighbors," and "helping each other in times of need," are highly valued by the people of Thai Binh in general, and by cadres, members, and women in particular. Ms. Tran Thi Luong, from Dong Xuan village, Thai Hung commune (Hung Ha district), recounted: "Typhoon No. 3 ripped off the roof tiles of my house. The women helped clean up, and the Women's Union of the district provided funds for me to re-roof my house." She added that in her neighborhood, whenever someone has a funeral, a wedding, or needs house repairs or construction, the whole community and women in the area help out, reducing the cost of hiring outside help and strengthening neighborly bonds.
Enriching the cultural identity of the people of Thai Binh.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong, President of the Provincial Women's Union, stated: The Union clearly recognizes the importance and significance of educating members on cultural traditions, patriotism, and revolutionary values in fulfilling political tasks, developing socio-economics, national defense and security, and building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of the country's industrialization and modernization era. The Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union has directed all levels of the Union to focus on improving the quality of propaganda and mobilization work to encourage members and women to cultivate moral qualities and lifestyles, and improve their skills in all aspects through diverse and rich forms and content. Over the past five years, all levels of the Union have established more than 1,400 cultural and artistic clubs, including 155 women's clubs focusing on traditional Cheo (traditional Vietnamese opera) art; Women members consistently participate in large numbers and play a core role in activities and events celebrating major national, Party, and association holidays. The province has 2,179 clubs for folk dance, yoga, aerobics, ballroom dancing, volleyball, women's football, lion dance, and traditional martial arts, attracting a large number of women and helping to improve their spiritual lives. Healthy cultural, artistic, and sports movements initiated by the women's association have attracted a large number of members and women, contributing to the gradual elimination of outdated customs from community life.

In addition, women's associations at all levels are focusing on encouraging members and women to actively access and use official information websites and read Party newspapers; and to consciously criticize and combat harmful cultural products.
Ms. Le Thi Minh Tho, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Tien Hai District, said: To date, communes and towns have effectively implemented "Women's Bookcases," utilizing the Vietnam Women's Newspaper, Vietnam Women's Information, and member activity newsletters. In addition, the Women's Union at all levels regularly provides and writes news articles promoting the cultural traditions, history, patriotism, and revolution of the homeland through the district and commune radio stations, mass media, and the Union's fanpage. The Union at all levels also effectively performs its function of monitoring and providing social feedback on activities such as culture, video games, and the sale of video discs in residential areas, promptly advising local authorities to rectify and prevent harmful cultural products affecting the community. This contributes to building a friendly and healthy educational environment for young people, in collaboration with Party committees and authorities at all levels.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong affirmed: The cultural, intellectual, patriotic, and revolutionary traditions of our ancestors have been and are being preserved and promoted by all levels of associations, becoming an important intrinsic strength contributing to the achievement of socio-economic goals, maintaining political stability, ensuring national defense and security, improving the material and spiritual lives of the people, and building a cultured lifestyle and good character. This is a great driving force to overcome all difficulties and challenges, and to build and develop Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of the country's industrialization and modernization era.
