Nine people detained urgently in connection with a 560 billion VND gambling ring.

On May 29th, the Hau Giang Provincial Police announced that they had coordinated with the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Public Security to dismantle a gambling ring worth 560 billion VND.

According to initial investigations, through intelligence gathering, the Criminal Police Department of Hau Giang Provincial Police discovered that several individuals in the area were colluding with individuals in other provinces to organize a large-scale gambling ring (football betting, online cockfighting, lottery).

The Director of the Hau Giang Provincial Police Department instructed the Criminal Police Department to focus on verifying and clarifying the aforementioned gambling ring.

On May 29th, the Criminal Police Department of Hau Giang Provincial Police, in coordination with the Professional Department of the Ministry of Public Security, carried out an emergency arrest and search warrant against 9 individuals involved in a gambling ring.

The investigating agency seized nearly 200 million VND in cash, numerous pieces of jewelry, one car, 10 motorbikes, 20 mobile phones, iPads, laptops used for gambling, many ATM cards, and notebooks containing betting calculations.

The suspects confessed to engaging in gambling activities through online football betting sites such as Sbobet, Ibet888, and online cockfighting sites like SV88, as well as organizing lottery and betting transactions. Initial estimates of the gambling money involved by the suspects are approximately 560 billion VND.

The police have not yet released the specific identities of the suspects in this gambling ring.
