According to the Party Committee's Task Force 35 of Chau Thanh commune, social media is developing rapidly, and smartphones are widely used. Alongside positive information, there is still a potential for harmful and toxic information; truth and falsehood, real and fake, are intertwined. This requires cadres, Party members, and citizens to have firm political resolve and be vigilant in receiving information. Therefore, protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating false and hostile viewpoints has become a regular and urgent task, closely linked to maintaining the "battlefield of trust" in society.
To fulfill this task, the Party Committee and agencies, departments, and branches of the commune promptly concretized, implemented, disseminated, and publicized Resolution No. 35-NQ/TW and Conclusion No. 89-KL/TW of the Politburo ; and the directives of the Provincial Party Committee, the Party Committee, and the 35 Working Committee related to religious affairs, in accordance with the local situation. Many policies were implemented with flexible and creative methods, yielding practical results. As a result, the awareness of the majority of cadres, Party members, civil servants, public employees, union members, association members, and the people regarding the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and religious affairs in the new situation has been increasingly enhanced.
In recent times, the ideological situation of cadres, Party members, and people of all walks of life in the commune has been basically stable; the national unity bloc continues to be consolidated and expanded. Simultaneously, the socio -economic development of the locality has also seen many positive changes, especially in the work of caring for people's health and ensuring social security and welfare. Recently, the Department of Culture and Social Affairs, in coordination with the Chau Thanh Health Center and Minh Hoa Health Station, organized a health care program for elderly people from ethnic minority groups. Mr. Danh So Phal, residing in Hoa Hung hamlet, shared: “I came here to have my blood sugar checked, blood tested, and electrocardiogram measured. The program is very meaningful, helping elderly people in difficult circumstances to have their health checked.” Through the program, 150 elderly people of Khmer ethnicity received general check-ups, including internal and external medicine, dermatology, ophthalmology, dentistry, and ENT examinations; electrocardiograms, general abdominal ultrasounds, and blood sugar screenings.
The Party Committee of Chau Thanh commune's Task Force 35 has determined that protecting the Party's ideological foundation is a regular and long-term task. The core principle is not just "combating" but, first and foremost, starting with "building." This means building trust, strengthening the theoretical foundation, and consolidating ideological "resistance" among cadres, Party members, and the people, especially the younger generation. Long, theoretically heavy propaganda campaigns are unlikely to have a strong impact. Conversely, positive values in life and the dedicated and responsible examples of cadres and Party members serve as vivid evidence, effectively refuting false narratives.
Last year during the rainy season, the road to Hamlet 40 in Minh An neighborhood was a muddy, swampy path, making travel difficult for residents mainly by boat and small canoe, and even more inconvenient for students going to school. Hamlet 40 has 23 households, most of whom are still struggling financially, so mobilizing contributions for road construction faced many obstacles. Without waiting for support from higher levels, the Party Secretary and Head of Minh An neighborhood, Thach Penh, mobilized residents to contribute materials and labor to build the road together. "The completed road will help students get to school more easily, residents will be able to travel more conveniently, and the sick will be able to get to the hospital in a timely manner," Mr. Thach Penh said.
Among the young Party members participating in the road construction, Au Phu Dinh shared: “Comrade Thach Penh is always close to the people, attentive to their needs, and constantly listens to their thoughts and aspirations. Everything is discussed democratically, so when mobilizing the people, they are very cooperative.” Thanks to the joint efforts of officials and the people, every bag of cement and every block of stone was contributed. After a period of implementation, the more than 1km long road was completed, making it easier for people to travel by bicycle and motorbike. Mr. Danh Long, a resident of the neighborhood, happily said: “The people here have been hoping for this road for a long time. Now that it's finished, going to the market and transporting agricultural products is much easier than before.”
| Chau Thanh commune currently has 23 hamlets and neighborhoods, with 323 self-governing people's groups; a population of 15,987 households, with 70,178 inhabitants. The Chau Thanh commune Party Committee currently has 49 subordinate Party branches and committees, with 1,740 Party members. |
