On November 1st, heavy rain continued in Cam Binh commune, one of the downstream areas of Ke Go Lake. Due to the prolonged heavy rain, Ke Go Lake overflowed, cutting off many residential areas and roads in Cam Binh commune. Boats were the only means of transportation at this time in the downstream commune of Ke Go Lake.
In response to widespread flooding, Cam Binh commune proactively assessed and evacuated residents from flood-prone areas and those at risk of flooding to safe locations. By early afternoon on November 1st, Cam Binh commune had evacuated 150 households with approximately 500 people to avoid the effects of the heavy rain and flooding.
However, due to the rapidly rising floodwaters, Cam Binh commune has mobilized forces and resources to continue searching each village and hamlet to organize the evacuation of residents to safe areas.
To provide timely support to the people, the local authorities have informed neighborhood groups, local security and order protection teams, and Zalo groups for peace and security, instructing them to contact the commune's functional forces in case evacuation is needed, so that they can send personnel and vehicles to provide assistance.
Upon receiving information that residents needed assistance, the authorities in Cam Binh commune used motorboats to quickly arrive and evacuate people to safety. The authorities in Cam Binh commune continuously receive requests for assistance when floodwaters threaten to inundate homes. In such situations, the functional forces quickly set out to support the people.
Currently, Cam Binh commune is closely monitoring weather developments, updating the discharge flow of Ke Go reservoir, and maintaining 100% of its personnel on standby to provide assistance to residents when needed. During the evacuation process, Cam Binh commune is ensuring that residents do not lack food or clean water.
