Go Dau: Speeding up construction progress of resettlement area serving Ho Chi Minh City

On June 19, Mr. Trinh Ngoc Phuong - Secretary of Go Dau District Party Committee worked with members of the District Compensation and Site Clearance Steering Committee to speed up the implementation of the Go Dau town resettlement area project, in order to promptly hand over land to households affected by the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project.

The project has a total investment of 318.9 billion VND from targeted provincial support capital and district budget, implemented on an area of over 97,000 ^m2 , with 480 resettlement lots. The technical infrastructure system is built synchronously, including traffic routes, water supply and drainage systems, trees, lighting, parks, parking lots and transformer stations.

Up to now, the total value of implementation has reached about 149.3 billion VND, equivalent to more than 59% of the contract value. Particularly, the two routes No. 3 and 4 of the resettlement area for households under the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project have basically completed the drainage infrastructure, panel retaining walls and are urgently completing the foundation.

Disbursement work also achieved positive results, with total disbursed capital from the beginning of the project being nearly 215 billion VND, equivalent to 89% of the total allocated capital.

However, some items of the project are still behind schedule due to difficulties in material sources and delays in construction organization. In this situation, the People's Committee of Go Dau district has worked directly with the contractor, requesting clear remedial measures and specific progress commitments.

Notably, the contractor has committed to completing the foundation of roads No. 3 and No. 4 and placing stakes to divide the plots into areas O3 and O4 by June 30, 2025 to promptly hand over 75 resettlement plots to serve the population arrangement work of the expressway project.

The road to the resettlement area of Go Dau town is being urgently constructed.

According to District Party Secretary Trinh Ngoc Phuong, the resettlement project not only serves the housing needs of the people, but is also an essential infrastructure contributing to speeding up the site clearance progress of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway project.

The District Party Secretary requested the contractor to concentrate all human resources and means, increase work to complete the roadbed and hand over at least 75 resettlement lots as committed before June 30, 2025. The district will directly monitor and evaluate the progress on a weekly basis to ensure that there are no prolonged delays.

The Go Dau town resettlement project is one of the key projects contributing to the population arrangement when implementing infrastructure development projects in the area, especially the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai expressway, one of the national strategic transport projects.
