Warning of flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence due to heavy rain and water flow

(DN) - On October 1, Dong Nai Hydrometeorological Station said that in the past 2 hours (from 3:10 p.m. to 5:10 p.m.), there was moderate to heavy rain in the province such as: Bu Nho 61mm, Thanh Son 98mm, Dak Lua 48mm, Ta Lai 32mm, La Nga 29mm... Soil moisture model shows that some areas in Dong Nai province are nearly saturated or have reached a state of near saturation (over 80%) or saturation.

It is forecasted that in the next 3-6 hours, some communes in Dong Nai province and neighboring areas will continue to have rain with accumulated rainfall ranging from 10-40mm, in some places over 50mm.

Warning in the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and land subsidence in the communes of Loc Ninh, Loc Tan, Loc Hung, Bu Dang, Tho Son, Phuoc Son, Dinh Quan (hill 112, Km 112 - National Highway 20), Dak Lua (hill along DL2 road; along Dong Nai river), Thanh Son.

Level of natural disaster risk due to flash floods, landslides, land subsidence due to rain, floods or water flow: Level 1.

Flash floods, landslides, and land subsidence can have adverse impacts on the environment, threaten people's lives and property; cause local traffic congestion, affect the movement of vehicles; destroy civil and economic works, causing damage to production and socio-economic activities.
