The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in the early morning of October 3, storm Matmo was in the sea east of Luzon Island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the storm center was level 9 (75-88km/h), gusting to level 11, moving in the West Northwest direction, at a speed of about 25km/h.
Storm Matmo is forecast to enter the East Sea today, becoming the 11th storm of the year.
At 1:00 a.m. on September 4, the storm in the eastern sea of the North East Sea with intensity of level 10, gusting to level 11, moving steadily in the West Northwest direction, traveling about 25km per hour, entering the East Sea and likely to strengthen.
Early the next morning (October 5), the storm in the northwest sea of the North East Sea, about 340km east-southeast of Leizhou Peninsula (China) with intensity of level 12, gusting to level 15, moving in the West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 20-25km/h and continuing to strengthen.
Thus, it is forecasted that after about 24 hours entering the East Sea, storm Matmo will increase by 2 levels.

At 1:00 a.m. on October 6, the storm in the Northern Gulf of Tonkin was at level 11, gusting to level 14, and moving in a West Northwest direction.
Forecast from the next 72 to 120 hours, the storm will move mainly in the West Northwest direction, traveling 15-20km per hour, the storm's intensity will gradually decrease.
Due to the influence of storm Matmo, from noon and afternoon of October 3, the eastern sea area of the North East Sea will have winds gradually increasing to level 6-7; then increasing to level 8-9, the area near the storm's center will have strong winds of level 10-11, gusting to level 13, waves 4-6m high. The sea will be very rough.
The Hydrometeorological Agency warns that on October 4-5, the northern sea area of the North East Sea is likely to be affected by strong winds of level 11-12, gusting to level 15.
Vessels operating in the above mentioned dangerous areas are susceptible to the impact of storms, whirlwinds, strong winds and large waves.
