Go Dau: Rural appearance improves thanks to the New Rural Development Program

From a district with many difficulties, Go Dau today has affirmed its position as a locality with a prosperous rural economy , and people's lives have been significantly improved both materially and spiritually.

Implementing the program since 2010, up to now, Go Dau district has had 8/8 communes meeting new rural standards, of which Bau Don commune has met the model new rural standards, Phuoc Dong and Thanh Phuoc communes have met the advanced new rural standards.

This is the result of the drastic and synchronous direction from the District Party Committee, District People's Committee to the grassroots levels, along with the active participation of functional branches and the high consensus spirit among the people.

Bau Don commune received the decision to recognize the commune as meeting the model new rural standards.

One of the outstanding achievements is the strong change in traffic infrastructure. Up to now, 100% of commune roads have been asphalted or concreted; hamlet and inter-hamlet roads have been hardened, creating favorable conditions for traffic and production development. In 2024, the district invested more than 87 billion VND to renovate and upgrade 81 traffic works, contributing to a clear change in the rural appearance.

At the same time, irrigation, electricity and domestic water supply systems have also been invested synchronously, effectively serving more than 15,500 hectares of agricultural land. The power grid has been renovated and upgraded to meet standards, meeting the production and daily needs of the people.

Thanh Duc commune mobilized social resources to build an intra-field road in the area, helping farmers transport agricultural products conveniently.

The success of the program cannot be separated from the active role of the grassroots cadres. A typical example is Mr. Nguyen Hoang An - Party Cell Secretary, Head of Duong Long Hamlet (Thanh Duc Commune) who has made many contributions in mobilizing people to implement the policies of the Party and State, actively participating in building new rural areas.

The example of people like Mr. Ngo Van Mai (residing in Thanh Duc commune), who voluntarily donated more than 300 ^square meters of land to build roads, shows a sense of responsibility and trust in the correct policies of the Party and State in the cause of rural renewal.

The model of growing tissue culture orchids in greenhouses of farmers in Go Dau district was awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister .

In the district, all schools from kindergarten to secondary school meet level 1 infrastructure standards, with the rate of high schools meeting national standards reaching 66.67%. In particular, Nguyen Thi Be Secondary School meets level 2 standards.

In the health sector, the rate of people participating in health insurance reached over 92.98%, commune health stations were invested in upgrading, ensuring initial medical examination and treatment. Xuyen A Tay Ninh General Hospital with an investment scale of over 1,250 billion VND has been put into operation since 2020, contributing to effective and modern health care for the people.

The district has also done well in sustainable poverty reduction, vocational training, care for policy beneficiaries, social protection, and environmental protection. Up to now, 100% of communes have a trained labor rate of over 85%, and all criteria for multidimensional poverty households have met the prescribed standards.

From a purely agricultural district, Go Dau is gradually becoming one of the localities with a fairly high economic growth rate in the province. The new rural program not only changes the infrastructure, but more importantly, it has raised awareness, promoted the proactive and creative spirit of the people in economic development and homeland construction.

With the achieved results, the new rural construction program in Go Dau has truly become an important driving force to promote sustainable development, a foundation for the district to continue moving towards building advanced, exemplary new rural areas in the coming time.
