On August 19, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) announced decisions on the university council for the 2025-2030 term.
Accordingly, on August 15, the Minister of Education and Training signed Decision No. 2318/QD-BGDDT recognizing the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics for the 2025-2030 term with 27 members.
On the same day, the Minister of Education and Training also issued a decision to recognize Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao, Party Secretary and Deputy Director of UEH, to hold the position of Chairman of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics for the 2025-2030 term.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao was born in 1979 in Hanoi . He successfully defended his PhD thesis in Finance and Banking in 2009, was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2015 and Professor in 2023.
With more than 20 years of experience in teaching, scientific research and university education management, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao is considered one of the typical faces of the young intellectual team in the field of economics.
Before taking on the position of Chairman of the UEH University Council, he held many positions at the school: Head of the Finance Department (2016), Head of the Training Department (2020), Vice Principal of the School of Technology and Design (2021), Vice Principal and then Vice Director of UEH (2022).
In June 2025, at the UEH Party Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term, Mr. Bao was elected to hold the position of Party Secretary.
With nearly 50 years of establishment and development, UEH has affirmed its position as one of the national key public universities, developing according to a multidisciplinary and multi-field model. Each year, the school trains more than 30,000 students at many different levels and training systems.
Thanks to its efforts in educational innovation, scientific research and social contributions, UEH has achieved many remarkable achievements: ranked in the Top 136 best universities in Asia, Top 501 universities in the world according to THE rankings, Top 301+ in Asia (QS Asia) and Top 301–400 globally in terms of contribution to the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations.
