Pursuant to Directive No. 44-CT/TU dated July 24, 2025 of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee on strengthening leadership and direction in the field of environmental sanitation and urban order management in the area, the City People's Committee has issued a Plan to organize a general environmental sanitation launching ceremony in 126 communes and wards across Hanoi.
The launching ceremony of the general environmental sanitation campaign in Hanoi took place from 7am to 9am on August 2nd with the opening ceremony held at the August Revolution Square (Cua Nam Ward). Along with the opening ceremony, 125 communes and wards in the city simultaneously organized a general environmental sanitation campaign right in their localities.

Hanoi City leaders launched the launch ceremony.
With the message: Hanoi "bright - green - clean - beautiful", the launching ceremony was held to implement 4 goals including concretizing Directive No. 44-CT/TU dated July 24, 2025 of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee; synchronizing solutions on urban order, environmental sanitation, creating a civilized - modern - disciplined appearance for the Capital; creating changes in awareness and actions of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and the People on environmental sanitation; launching practical emulation from the grassroots, strongly spreading the message of Hanoi "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful", improving the quality of life, protecting the landscape and public health.
The forces participating in the general environmental sanitation launching ceremony in Hanoi gathered all subjects including officials, Party members, members of organizations, students, Youth Union members, armed forces, people, businesses and religious organizations. Thereby, demonstrating the spirit of the whole people - comprehensive - unanimous action for a green and clean living environment.

Launching at the launching ceremony at the August Revolution Square (Cua Nam Ward), Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh emphasized: Today's launching ceremony aims to seriously implement Directive No. 44 of the Hanoi Party Committee Standing Committee on strengthening leadership and direction of environmental sanitation and urban order management. This is an activity demonstrating the city's strong commitment, responsibility and specific actions in the cause of building a "Bright - green - clean - beautiful", civilized and modern" capital.
The Chairman of the City People's Committee said that in recent years, with the drastic participation of the entire political system, environmental sanitation, urban beautification and building a civilized lifestyle in the city have had clear changes. Many roads and neighborhoods have become cleaner, greener; the awareness of officials and people has been gradually raised.
However, in addition to the achieved results, it is also necessary to frankly acknowledge: there is still a situation of waste remaining in residential areas, violations of classified advertising, encroachment on sidewalks, roads, and pollution of rivers in the inner city that has not been thoroughly handled; environmental protection awareness of a number of officials and people is still limited...
These shortcomings require urgent, more synchronous, continuous and drastic solutions. We cannot allow waste to be dumped in the wrong places, spilled onto the streets, causing urban aesthetic loss; littering into rivers and lakes, causing water pollution; burning waste and agricultural by-products, causing air pollution... affecting the quality of the living environment.

Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh and officials and people of Cua Nam ward participated in cleaning up the environment in the area.
Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that the simultaneous environmental cleaning of 126 communes and wards is not just a temporary environmental cleaning activity, but a widespread movement, gradually changing awareness and action among all people. Each citizen of the capital is an "environmental soldier"; each residential area is a "bright, green, clean, beautiful fortress"; each agency and unit is a bright spot in maintaining urban discipline.
The Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee called on all cadres, party members, and people of the capital to take concrete actions, from the smallest things such as throwing garbage at the right time and place; keeping the living and working places clean, to actively participating in community activities, to turn environmental sanitation into a cultural feature, a daily habit. Especially in this August, we celebrate Independence Day, the leaders of the Party and State, especially General Secretary To Lam, wish that our capital would be as clean and beautiful as Tet.
To achieve practical effectiveness and sustainable spread, Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh suggested that Party committees and authorities at all levels identify this as a regular political task, associated with the responsibility of the leader. Organizing general cleaning is not just an event, but needs to become a regular activity every Friday at the office and every Saturday in the residential community.
Agencies, units, schools, businesses, residential groups and residential areas must have specific action plans, establish self-management models for sanitation in each street and residential area; periodically inspect, monitor and strictly handle violations of environmental sanitation regulations.
