According to the plan of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the entrance exam for 10th grade in public high schools will take place on May 30th and 31st, 2026; candidates applying to specialized schools will take an additional exam on June 1st, 2026. Meanwhile, the 2026 High School Graduation Exam is expected to be held on June 11th and 12th, 2026.
This year, the number of candidates participating in the exams continues to be high. Statistics show that more than 124,900 students registered for their first choice of public high school, more than 121,000 students registered for their second choice, and more than 108,000 students registered for their third choice. For the High School Graduation Exam, Hanoi has approximately 127,866 candidates registered to take the exam at 222 testing locations throughout the city.
With the weather entering the peak of the hot summer season, the demand for electricity is increasing. Ensuring electricity supply to examination centers is identified as a top priority to support the organization of the exams, the operation of surveillance camera systems, information technology equipment, cooling systems, as well as the printing and copying of exam papers, grading, and the overall management of the exams.
To ensure continuous power supply, EVNHANOI stated that it will not interrupt or reduce power supply on high, medium, and low voltage grids related to exam venues during the exam periods. Specifically, for the 10th grade entrance exam, power will be guaranteed from May 30th to June 1st, 2026; for the high school graduation exam, it will be from June 10th to 13th, 2026.
Simultaneously, EVNHANOI's affiliated units have intensified inspections and reviews of the power grid system, substations, and power lines at examination sites, exam paper printing and copying areas, grading areas, and the working locations of the examination steering committees at all levels. Emergency response teams are deployed 24/7, with backup materials, equipment, and mobile generators ready for any emergencies.
At many examination sites across the city, electrical technicians collaborated with schools to inspect internal electrical systems, electrical cabinets, backup power sources, and equipment serving the exam to minimize the risk of incidents; fire safety equipment in electrical rooms and machine rooms was also inspected and reviewed simultaneously to ensure safety throughout the examination period.
Mr. Tran Van Duy, Head of Safety Department of EVNHANOI, said that the plan to ensure electricity supply for the exam had been developed early and implemented in each operating unit. EVNHANOI requested units to strengthen on-site inspections, proactively handle safety risks, and prepare sufficient personnel and backup equipment to ensure stable and continuous electricity supply to all exam locations.
Electrical engineers collaborated with the school at the examination sites to inspect the internal electrical systems, electrical cabinets, backup power sources, and equipment used for the exam to minimize the risk of incidents. Inspections and reviews of fire safety equipment in the electrical and machine rooms were also carried out simultaneously to ensure safety throughout the examination period.
With measures implemented early on, EVNHANOI is determined to ensure a safe and stable power supply not only for the examinations but also to contribute to creating favorable conditions for candidates to confidently take their exams, helping the important exams for students in Hanoi to take place seriously, safely, and in accordance with regulations.
