Eyewitnesses at the scene said the fire broke out at 8 a.m. Because the homeowner ran a business selling household electrical appliances, the fire spread rapidly and intensely. Smoke and flames rose dozens of meters into the air. After discovering the fire, residents quickly notified the authorities.
Upon receiving reports from residents, the Hanoi City Police Command Information Center dispatched Firefighting and Rescue Team No. 4, along with two ladder trucks and four fire trucks, and reinforcements from neighboring firefighting teams, to the scene. Additionally, officers and soldiers from the Vietnam Coast Guard Training and Professional Development Center, located near the fire scene, also joined forces with the authorities to extinguish the blaze.
Mr. Bui Huy Quang, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ha Dong Ward, said that at the time of the fire, there were 8 people inside the house. When the fire broke out, the homeowner, in a panic, jumped from the 6th-floor balcony of the burning house into the neighboring house. The victim was given first aid by the authorities and taken to a medical facility. By over 10 am, the fire was basically under control. Authorities broke down the door to enter the house to extinguish the fire and search for trapped people. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
