On September 19th, information from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training indicated that most schools in Hanoi had welcomed students back to normal classes.

However, 26 schools are still closed for in-person classes, including 9 kindergartens, 9 primary schools, and 8 secondary schools. Chuong My district currently has the highest number of schools still closed for in-person classes, with 16 schools.
According to the Ministry of Education and Training , Typhoon No. 3 caused severe damage to the education sector in terms of human lives and property, with 67 students injured or killed; estimated damage to facilities and teaching equipment exceeding 1.26 trillion VND; and more than 41,500 sets of textbooks damaged.
Although Hanoi's education sector did not suffer any casualties, its facilities, teaching equipment, and many trees were damaged.
Given the complex weather conditions and the recent impact of the storm, under the direction of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, schools that were flooded or lacked adequate facilities have flexibly organized appropriate teaching methods such as online learning, assigning homework, and sending teachers to support students.
Currently, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training is requiring schools to both continue teaching and urgently address the consequences of the incident; thoroughly review safety conditions; carry out disinfection and sanitization; and strengthen measures to prevent accidents and injuries among students.
In a newly issued document regarding the organization of teaching and learning in schools damaged by floods, the Ministry of Education and Training requests that local Departments of Education and Training adjust school educational plans and develop remedial learning plans for students to ensure the completion of the first semester's curriculum as well as the entire school year according to the general educational plan of the locality and the whole country.
