Hanoi announces list of relics, heritages, and works that need focused resources to protect and promote their values

The Hanoi People's Council has just announced Resolution No. 24/NQ-HDND on promulgating the List of areas, relics, heritages, and works that need to focus resources on protecting and promoting cultural values; the list of typical blocks and streets with cultural and historical values, the list of valuable architectural works to restore, protect, and promote values ​​in Hanoi (phase 1).

According to Resolution No. 24/NQ-HDND, the list of tangible cultural heritage includes the following groups: typical relics managed by the Hanoi People's Committee (including 10 relics, with outstanding relics such as: Uncle Ho memorial relic in Van Phuc, relics about Uncle Ho at House 48 Hang Ngang Street, Hoa Lo Prison relic...); relics recognized as special national relics (22 relics, with famous relics such as: Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Temple of Literature - Quoc Tu Giam, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, Huong Son landscape...); relics ranked at the national level (1,164 relics); relics ranked at the city level (1,600 relics); list of ranked revolutionary resistance relics (46 relics); locations with plaques commemorating revolutionary resistance events (354 points); recognized national treasures (34 treasures) and 1 ancient village.

The list of Intangible Cultural Heritage includes intangible cultural heritages recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) (6 heritages such as: Ca Tru, Giong Festival, Mother Goddess Worship practice...); the list of cultural heritages recognized in the list of national intangible cultural heritages (in addition to the heritages recognized by UNESCO, there are also outstanding heritages such as: Pho Hanoi, Chem Temple Festival, Dam Swimming Festival, Com craft in Me Tri, Quang An lotus tea craft...); craft villages, traditional craft villages and typical traditional crafts in Hanoi (182 craft villages, 54 traditional craft villages, 7 traditional crafts).

With the list of typical blocks and streets with cultural and historical values, the list includes streets in Hanoi's Old Quarter under level I protection and restoration (21 streets); streets in Hanoi's Old Quarter under level II protection and restoration (40 streets); street sections in Hanoi's Old Quarter of streets with many villas of special architectural value (16 street sections); street sections in Hanoi's Old Quarter of streets with many villas of remarkable architectural value (11 street sections).

The list of other works with architectural value includes the list of old villas built before 1954 (including 222 villas in group 1 and 356 villas in group 2); the list of public architectural works built before 1954 (40 works with special value and 21 works with remarkable value).

The Hanoi People's Council requests the City People's Committee to organize the implementation of the resolution; propagate, promote, support and mobilize resources of organizations and individuals to preserve, embellish and promote cultural values ​​according to the lists; organize summaries, adjustments, amendments and supplements to the lists in accordance with each development stage of the Capital; study plans to adjust and amend the lists appropriately after completing the arrangement and reorganization of administrative units at all levels and building a 2-level local government organization model.

The City People's Council assigns the Standing Committee of the City People's Council, the Committees of the City People's Council, the Delegation Groups, and the City People's Council delegates to supervise the implementation of the resolution; requests the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City and socio-political organizations to propagate, mobilize the people, and supervise the implementation of the resolution.
