Last week, the Hanoi CDC coordinated with relevant units to monitor the disease situation to detect cases early in order to organize investigations, containment, and disease control; and conducted training on the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign plan in the city in 2025.

This week, the Hanoi CDC continues to monitor the implementation of the measles vaccination campaign for children aged 6 to under 9 months in the following districts: Bac Tu Liem, Ba Dinh, Dong Anh, Ha Dong, Tay Ho, Me Linh, Nam Tu Liem, Phu Xuyen, and Soc Son.

District and town health centers are organizing and implementing measles vaccination campaigns in their areas for children aged 6 to under 9 months, as directed by the Hanoi People's Committee, the Department of Health, and the Hanoi CDC.

Surveillance units detect patients at designated healthcare facilities and in the community to promptly investigate and handle cases and outbreaks, preventing widespread transmission. They collect samples for testing from 100% of suspected cases, and organize containment and thorough treatment of areas with patients and outbreaks.

In addition, the units regularly coordinate between the health and education sectors in monitoring, preventing, and handling cases and outbreaks of measles, hand, foot and mouth disease, chickenpox, etc., in schools; coordinating the implementation of vaccination programs in schools as well as reviewing and educating parents to ensure their children receive all required vaccinations.

According to Plan No. 35/KH-UBND of the Hanoi People's Committee, starting February 17, 2025, Hanoi will implement measles vaccination for children aged 6 months to under 9 months. Approximately 20,000 children are expected to receive one dose of the measles vaccine. The vaccine will be supplied by the Ministry of Health.
