At 2 PM on May 28th, the Cua Sot Border Guard Station (Border Guard Command, Provincial Military Command) received a report that the fishing vessel TH-91895-TS, owned and captained by Mr. Pham Van Ninh (born in 1986, from Thanh Hoa province), had sunk due to strong winds and high waves while fishing. The vessel, nearly 14 meters long, was about 6 km from shore when the accident occurred, with 7 crew members on board.

Upon receiving the report, the Cua Sot Border Guard Station notified nearby vessels to provide assistance; simultaneously, they dispatched 8 officers and soldiers and 1 speedboat to participate in the rescue operation.

By 5 PM the same day, all seven fishermen had been rescued and transferred to other vessels; the distressed fishing boat was being towed back to Cua Sot fishing port.
