Not afraid of championship candidates

The two police teams are highly regarded by experts thanks to their strong squads. After 4 matches, Ho Chi Minh City Police and Hanoi Police have both performed well, reaching the top of the rankings.

Returning to the V-League, Ho Chi Minh City Police showed a change in their playing tactics. Since the beginning of the season, Coach Le Huynh Duc's team has been unbeaten in all 3 matches played at Thong Nhat Stadium, including 2 wins against Hanoi Club, Hoang Anh Gia Lai and a draw with Nam Dinh .

In the early match of round 6, Ho Chi Minh City Police even showed superiority in tactics when hosting the defending champion team. In terms of force balance, Nam Dinh was better thanks to possessing high-quality foreign players along with national players from all lines. Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City Police showed solidarity in playing style, high cohesion in defense and counterattack.

Carefully studying the playing style and clearly aware of the strength of the team from Thanh Nam, the HCM City Police Club proactively played defensive counter-attacks in the first half and created a surprise when they exchanged blows in the second half. Experts said that the Thong Nhat Stadium was slippery due to the rain before the match, causing the home team's ball handling and finishing to lack precision.

Meanwhile, coach Le Huynh Duc frankly admitted that his players' physical and endurance limitations prevented them from winning. He emphasized: "The whole team needs to improve their physical strength. Only when the players are good and strong can they handle the game properly."

The head coach of Nam Dinh Club had many words of praise for his opponent. "Before the tournament, we were impressed with the careful preparation and strong investment in human resources of the Ho Chi Minh City Police. I highly appreciate the Ho Chi Minh City team and know that it will be very difficult to face them right at Thong Nhat Stadium" - Mr. Vu Hong Viet admitted.

Quang Hai has "opened fire"

Since moving to Hanoi Police Club in the 2023 season, Nguyen Quang Hai's "goal-scoring" instinct has gradually faded. His best achievement in 3 seasons is only 8 goals after 22 matches in V-League 2023-2024. Also in this playground last season, the midfielder born in 1997 only had 3 goals in 25 appearances.

Quang Hai's form has declined since he moved to France to play. Constantly being "pushed" to the bench caused him to lose his ball sense and his physical strength to decline. However, the 28-year-old player made a wise decision when he returned to Vietnam and gradually regained his skills and top level of football.

In V-League 2025-2026, Quang Hai will not only play the role of "conductor" coordinating the midfield but also regain his scoring skills. He not only acts as a bridge between the lines but also utilizes his personal technique to make passes to teammates or make tricky shots to tear the opponent's net.

After 4 matches played in V-League this season, Quang Hai scored 2 goals, helping Hanoi Police Club temporarily rise to the top of the rankings with 10 points. After the early match of round 6 on September 13, Coach Chu Dinh Nghiem ( Hai Phong Club) commented: "Quang Hai is a player for big matches, always ready to shine. Quang Hai's passes are sharp, accurate, and highly surprising. Our defense did their best but could not stop his "super product" goal."

Hanoi Police Club will start the group stage of AFC Champions League Two against host Beijing Guoan (China) on September 18. In this tournament, Quang Hai and his teammates are in group E, along with Beijing Guoan, Macarthur (Australia) and Tai Po (Hong Kong - China).
