Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by 2800 VND/kg compared to yesterday and are trading at 111,200 VND/kg.

Over the past week, coffee prices on the London exchange have fallen more sharply than domestic prices, resulting in domestic prices being higher than world prices. This disparity makes it difficult to reach agreements on export contracts, especially as Vietnam prepares for its major harvest season starting in November 2025.
There are two main reasons for the decline in world coffee prices. Firstly, the trend of investing in gold is attracting capital, causing funds to be withdrawn from coffee. Secondly, there is information about the possibility of reducing tariffs on coffee imported from Brazil to the US, which adds further downward pressure on the entire market.
Fluctuations in coffee prices depend not only on the normal supply and demand relationship but are also heavily influenced by international trade policies. Recently, several members of the US House of Representatives proposed a bill to completely eliminate import tariffs on coffee and many other related products. If passed, this proposal would significantly impact the global market.
In Vietnam, the upcoming harvest is projected to yield the highest output in four years. Favorable weather conditions and strong investment from farmers are expected to lead to a more abundant supply, helping to alleviate shortages and put downward pressure on global coffee prices after a period of sharp increases.
According to a Bloomberg News survey, Vietnam's coffee production in the new crop year could reach 1.76 million tons, equivalent to approximately 29.4 million 60kg bags, an increase of about 6% compared to the previous year. This could also become the largest harvest since the 2021-2022 period, further solidifying Vietnam's position as a leading coffee exporter in the world.
