US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper expressed his thanks for the warm welcome of the authorities and government of Khanh Hoa province. He affirmed that the visit of the two ships will contribute to maintaining the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the United States. Mr. Marc Knapper also said that he will continue to seek different ways to effectively enhance the cooperative relationship between Khanh Hoa and the two cities of San Diego and Boston; support Khanh Hoa in attracting and seeking investors in the high-tech industry and developing cooperation in the tourism sector; in addition, he hopes that the visit of the sailors and officers of the two ships will contribute to enhancing mutual understanding between the people of the two countries, contributing to promoting people-to-people exchange activities between Khanh Hoa and US partners in particular, and between Vietnam and the United States in general.

It is known that the USS Blue Ridge is the flagship and command ship of the 7th Fleet, based in Yokosuka (Japan), and is considered a command and control ship in the US Navy. The Waesche is a Legend-class patrol ship, the largest patrol ship in the US Coast Guard.
