Luc Yen and Van Ban communes evacuate people from areas at risk of landslides.

Due to the impact of storm No. 3 causing prolonged rain, the authorities of Luc Yen and Van Ban communes urgently deployed response measures to ensure the safety of people's lives and property, especially focusing on evacuating people from areas at risk of landslides.

* Luc Yen commune relocated 125 households

Through review, currently, the whole Luc Yen commune has 125 households with 459 people living in hillside areas with high risk of landslides.

Therefore, the Commune People's Committee requires households to strictly comply with the evacuation order and absolutely not stay or return to the dangerous area without notification from local authorities.

To ensure safety during the evacuation, functional forces have been mobilized to assist people in clearing their belongings, transporting people and belongings out of the danger zone. For now, households will be relocated to cultural houses, People's Committees of former communes or staying with relatives.

Along with the work of evacuating people from areas at high risk of landslides, with the 4 on-site motto and close coordination between all levels, Luc Yen commune is determined to minimize damage and protect people's lives and property.

* Van Ban Commune relocated 13 households

In recent days, due to the impact of storm No. 3 Wipha, Van Ban commune has experienced thunderstorms, strong winds, and prolonged rains, causing damage to people's property and crops. Specifically, 29 houses in Van Tien, Noong Don, and Ban Noong villages had their roofs blown off; trees were broken; and 30m of iron pipes of the clean water supply pipeline were damaged.

Many points are at high risk of landslides.

About 30 0.4kV low voltage power poles were tilted and wires were broken in many places. 15 telecommunication poles were knocked down and wires were broken, causing communication interruption. The total damage was estimated at over 250 million VND. To date, the damage has been basically overcome.

In addition, the local government and police mobilized 13 households with more than 50 people living in areas at high risk of landslides to safe shelters on the night of July 23.

Post warning signs in dangerous areas

Van Ban Commune has also placed warning signs in all dangerous areas, assigned security forces to monitor and control people and vehicles from passing through dangerous areas.
