Chagee milk tea brand is about to enter Vietnam and is being called for a boycott.

(NLDO) - On the Play Store and AppStore, the Chagee application has been removed from the Vietnamese market.

Recently, many users on social media posted articles expressing their outrage and calling for a boycott of the Chagee milk tea brand. The reason is that the milk tea brand's app displays a map with an image similar to the illegal nine-dash line.

In a March 7 post on the Chagee milk tea brand’s Fanpage, users were invited to download the app via the link and participate in a game to receive a free drink. However, this link is currently inaccessible.

On the Play Store and AppStore, the Chagee app has been removed from the Vietnamese market. The platform currently states: "The app is currently unavailable in your region." However, by switching regions, users can still download the app.

Chagee has yet to officially comment on the incident.

On Chagee's Fanpage, the posts received thousands of angry emojis and comments expressing anger, demanding that the brand immediately remove the inappropriate image.

Ms. Uyen Thy (District 1, HCMC) said she will not support this brand if it officially appears in Vietnam. "Baby Three has just been called for a boycott, now it's Chagee's turn. I will not buy this product" - Ms. Thy said harshly.

Chagee is a high-end milk tea chain founded in 2017 in Shanghai, China. The brand currently has more than 5,000 stores across East Asia.

The first store in Vietnam of the Chagee milk tea brand is expected to be located at the corner of Nguyen Thiep - Dong Khoi (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) and is in the process of completion. The official opening date of this store has not been announced by the company.

Previously, the game "Boba Tea DIY Make Milk Tea" on the Google Play app store was discovered to have an illegal nine-dash line in the app's map.

The Chinese electric motorbike company Yadea also posted a map showing the wrong names of the two archipelagos Hoang Sa and Truong Sa, which belong to Vietnam. The company later issued an apology to customers.
