On the evening of December 5th, the opening ceremony of the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival 2024 took place at Lam Vien Square (Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province). Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Hoa Binh, Member of the Political Bureau, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, and Standing Deputy Prime Minister; many former leaders of the Party and State; leaders of central ministries and agencies; leaders of provinces and cities; leaders of Lam Dong Province and Da Lat City; along with tens of thousands of tourists and local residents.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Tran Hong Thai, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, expressed his belief that the Flower Festival is not only a bridge but also a destination full of affection, loyalty, and devotion for all those who love flowers, art, and the land and people of Da Lat - Lam Dong.

“Through flowers and music, we express the golden hearts of the people of Lam Dong, overcoming difficulties and challenges, and enthusiastically contributing. Da Lat flowers not only bring economic value but also symbolize the strength of the 47 ethnic groups, resilient in the past, capable in the present, and aspiring to rise with the new era – the era of the Vietnamese nation's rise,” Mr. Thai stated.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh congratulated Lam Dong province on successfully organizing the Flower Festival nine times over the past 20 years. “I believe that the Party Committee, government, and people of all ethnic groups in Lam Dong province will continue to unite, more effectively exploit the potential and strengths of the locality, overcome all difficulties, and rise together with the country into a new era – an era of national progress towards prosperity and strength,” the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.

With the theme "Da Lat Flowers - A Symphony of Colors," the opening night art program of the Da Lat Flower Festival 2024 utilizes various art forms such as music, dance, and modern stage technologies to celebrate the multifaceted beauty of flowers, flower growers, and the culture, character, and aspirations of the people of Da Lat, along with the development of the city of flowers.

The art program consists of three movements: Symphony of Heaven and Earth, Endless Experience, and Brilliant Harmony, featuring 10 different artistic performances.

Specifically, the "Symphony of Heaven and Earth" segment gives viewers the feeling of standing in the middle of a vast flower field, immersing themselves in the soaring melodies and inhaling the fragrances. It opens with a story about the flower season in Da Lat, blending seamlessly with nature's magical symphony through scenes such as: the fertile land of Lang Biang, sunrise over the plateau, and the beauty of Da Lat, all set to the music of the song "Da Lat – City of a Thousand Flowers."

The film features scenes and clips set to the music of famous songs about Da Lat, such as: "Dreaming of Flowers," "Who Goes to the Land of Cherry Blossoms," and "Our Da Lat."

Part 3, "A Brilliant Symphony," features a parade of 10 floats representing flower villages and several businesses, symbolizing the 10 editions of the Flower Festival. Each float has a different theme, incorporating singing and dancing performances set to the new song " Welcome to Da Lat."

In addition to sound and lighting equipment, LED screens, stage design, and vibrant scenery, the opening night utilized technological elements in its stage design, including over 500 drone lights, 3D mapping, turntables, lifting platforms, programmable electric hoists and motion systems, artistic fireworks, and pyrotechnics, creating a powerful impression on the audience.
