Take practical action and prioritize resources for children.

On the evening of May 30th, in My Duc district, the Hanoi People's Committee organized the launching ceremony for the 2024 Action Month for Children, with the participation of 400 children representing nearly 2 million children in the city.

At the ceremony, Ms. Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee and Chairwoman of the Hanoi Children's Protection Fund's Board of Trustees, stated that in response to the 2024 Action Month for Children, the Hanoi People's Committee issued Plan No. 100/KH-UBND dated April 1, 2024, with 9 groups of content and 17 specific tasks assigned to departments, agencies, districts, and towns to ensure that 100% of children with special circumstances receive adequate and timely attention, support, and gifts on International Children's Day, June 1st.

Districts, counties, and towns should develop plans and effectively implement activities for the 2024 Month of Action for Children, in accordance with the specific conditions and circumstances of each locality.

With the motto "For the benefit of ten years, plant trees; for the benefit of a hundred years, cultivate people" and dedicating the best to children, Hanoi city has implemented many specific policies.

2024 marks the second year that Hanoi has implemented Resolution 25/NQ-HĐND of the Hanoi People's Council on giving gifts to children in special circumstances on the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1st) and the Mid-Autumn Festival, with a budget of 500,000 VND per child per event.

This June 1st, Hanoi will have nearly 13,000 children with special circumstances receiving gifts totaling over 6 billion VND from the city's budget. In addition, various levels of government, sectors, and localities are also organizing numerous programs and activities to care for and support children in the area.

At the ceremony, delegates awarded 200 scholarships, bicycles, and two sets of playground equipment to underprivileged children who have shown determination and effort, with a total value of 840 million VND. The People's Committee of My Duc District also presented eight sets of playground equipment to eight schools in the district, with a total value of 1.8 billion VND.

Announcing the theme for the 2024 Children's Action Month: "Practical Action, Prioritizing Resources for Children," Vice President Vu Thu Ha called on every individual and organization to enthusiastically participate in the Children's Action Month with concrete, practical, and meaningful actions, conveying the message: "Listen to children with your heart, protect children with action."
