Master many advanced techniques

More than 10 years ago (April 25, 2015), a new milestone in the history of the formation and development of Dong Nai General Hospital was recorded, which was the hospital inaugurating a new facility. A modern facility with a scale of 1,150 beds with a total investment of over 2,000 billion VND from the budget. Currently, the hospital has a spacious, clean and fully equipped facility for working and medical examination and treatment. This is the common aspiration of the medical staff and millions of people in Dong Nai and neighboring provinces.

Responding to the trust of the people as well as the provincial leaders, the medical team of Dong Nai General Hospital has gradually improved comprehensively, from expertise to administrative procedures; confidently receiving transfers and mastering many advanced techniques from the central level.

Dong Nai General Hospital received the Diamond certification from the World Stroke Organization in April 2024. This is the highest level awarded by WSO and Dong Nai General Hospital is a rare provincial hospital in the South to achieve this standard.

Dr. Nguyen Tat Trung, Head of the General Planning Department of Dong Nai General Hospital, said that in the field of cardiology, the hospital has coordinated advanced techniques in the cardiovascular field with 3 key departments (Internal Cardiology - Interventional Cardiology and Thoracic Surgery - Cardiology) for intervention. "The hospital has mastered open heart surgery techniques, deployed permanent 3-chamber pacemaker implantation, ICD; His bundle pacing are advanced techniques performed in the world today," said Dr. Trung.

In addition, in the field of surgery and obstetrics; the hospital can perform most advanced techniques, approaching that of upper-level hospitals. "Especially in the field of neurology, the hospital is honored to receive the Diamond certificate for stroke treatment awarded by the World Stroke Organization (WSO). This is the highest standard for stroke treatment awarded by WSO and we have maintained it continuously for 4 consecutive quarters in 2024", Dr. Trung proudly said.

Dr. Trung revealed that in the coming time, the hospital will continue to develop many advanced techniques, especially organ transplant techniques. At the same time, it aims to establish a Cardiovascular Center, a Cancer Center and an Emergency Center to coordinate support and improve professional development, training, scientific research as well as transfer techniques to lower-level hospitals; aiming to become a special-class hospital by 2030.

Dr. Ngo Duc Tuan, Director of Dong Nai General Hospital said: "Since putting on a new coat, Dong Nai General Hospital has almost had a transformation. We have received the transfer and mastered many advanced techniques that we almost did not dare to think of before, such as heart surgery and soon we will also implement kidney transplant techniques." Or in the treatment of strokes and severe accidents; now the hospital also has the ability to save lives, opening up a higher chance of survival for patients if they are given timely emergency care during the "golden hour".

This is the highest level awarded by WSO and Dong Nai General Hospital is a rare provincial hospital in the South to achieve this standard."

To achieve these achievements, the hospital has made long-term preparations, from equipment to staff training. "When building this new facility, we requested the design of an inter-operating room system, which is a preparation step for the implementation of kidney transplant technology later," the Director of Dong Nai General Hospital confided.

Regarding human resources, in addition to sending medical staff for specialized technical training, the hospital also opens a mechanism to recruit highly qualified doctors with special salaries, thereby attracting talented people to serve the hospital. "With the achievements in the past time and the large and highly qualified medical staff, we aim to become a special-class hospital," said Dr. Tuan.

To improve management and service efficiency, Dong Nai General Hospital has strongly applied information technology, digitizing data according to Decision 130 of the Ministry of Health. Uploading all data to the Ministry of Health's electronic information portal as well as data on birth certificates, death certificates, etc. At the same time, applying dynamic QR Code in hospital fee payment and improving medical examination and treatment processes, reducing waiting time, bringing convenience and accuracy to patients.
