On the evening of January 7th, the awards ceremony for the 4th "I'm Healthier and More Beautiful" contest, jointly organized by the Health and Life Newspaper ( Ministry of Health ), took place at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace (Hanoi).
Mr. Ngo Xuan Bach was awarded the Special Prize worth 50 million VND. His journey of transformation is a clear testament to the power of scientific and sustainable change.
Just a few months ago, he weighed over 100kg, his health deteriorated significantly, he had high cholesterol, fatty liver disease, and his blood pressure was consistently at risk. At that time, even daily activities and mobility became difficult.

Therefore, he was determined to train regularly, eat healthily, and be disciplined. After all his efforts, he lost 23kg, reduced his waist circumference by 21cm, and his physical fitness improved significantly. He can now run 21km and work all day without getting tired.
In particular, that journey also spread to his mother, helping her lose 5kg. She also saw improvements in many health issues, including significantly better sleep and cardiovascular health.
“For me, the journey to better health is no longer just a personal story. As I changed, my mother changed with me. We exercise together, learn how to eat healthily together, and encourage each other every day,” Bach shared.
He realized that taking care of one's own health is also a way of showing love to family. Therefore, he hopes that everyone will start with themselves, so that they can be a longer-lasting companion to those they love.
According to the organizers, the contestants entered the competition from very different backgrounds. Some had been overweight for a long time, some had experienced uncontrolled weight gain, and some had underlying medical conditions or low self-esteem… However, the common thread was their perseverance in adjusting small habits, such as eating on time, reducing processed foods, exercising regularly, getting enough sleep, and learning to listen to their bodies.
Notably, many contestants not only changed themselves but also became "inspirational figures" in their families and small communities. Healthy meals, morning walks... spread the spirit of healthy living beyond the competition.
