Journey to the source "Following the footsteps of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975"

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), and the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee organized a trip back to the city's artists in 2025, with the theme "Following the footsteps of the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of 1975".

The journey to the source aims to educate politics, ideology, and widely propagate among artists and writers about the significance, stature, and heroic historical value of the nation; affirm the correct and wise leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam , President Ho Chi Minh, and the spirit of great national unity as the decisive factor for the victory of the spring victory in 1975.

Thereby, motivating and encouraging the city's artists to continue to contribute to the development of the city's literature and art; actively composing and performing literary and artistic works to practically celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification, on topics praising the leadership of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh , the tradition of patriotism and revolution; praising the development of the city and the country; building the image of typical examples in studying and following Uncle Ho, the image of new people in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The journey was attended by about 115 delegates, including veteran artists who participated in the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising; outstanding artists from the city's literary and artistic associations, and art units under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City; artists who have made many contributions to promoting and preserving national art and traditional culture, actively participating in the city's political and social programs, etc.

The journey back to the source is expected to take place over 4 days, from May 27 to 30, 2025, in Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Binh Phuoc provinces with many meaningful activities. In Kon Tum province, the delegation will learn about the Dak To - Tan Canh victory, Phuong Hoang airport , perform the flag-raising ceremony at the Bo Y border gate flagpole, give gifts to families of policy beneficiaries, compatriots and families of soldiers in difficult circumstances, visit the Kon Tum Prison relic - where political cadres were detained under the French colonial period...

In Gia Lai province, the delegation held an incense offering ceremony at the provincial martyrs cemetery, visited the Great Unity Square, burned incense at Uncle Ho's Temple, organized a gratitude performance and presented gifts to 100 policy families, people in difficult circumstances, poor but studious students, and families of cadres and soldiers in difficult circumstances in Ia Grai district.

In Dak Lak province, the delegation organized a tour and learned about the Buon Ma Thuot Prison relic , visited the provincial museum, viewed the Buon Ma Thuot victory model, organized an exchange program with artists who participated in the resistance war, and connected artists between generations.

In Binh Phuoc province, the delegation visited the national historical site of Ta Thiet Revolutionary Base - the Military Commission base - Command of the armed forces of the Liberation Army of South Vietnam.
