The announcement ceremony of Resolution 1013 of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement and establishment of wards in Go Cong Town and the establishment of Go Cong City, Tien Giang Province, effective from May 1, 2024, was held by the Provincial People's Committee today (April 26). This is an important event not only for the Party Committee, government and people of Go Cong Town, but also of great significance to Tien Giang Province.

The upgrading of Go Cong Town to Go Cong City is the desire of the Party Committee, the government and the people of Go Cong. Because this is the condition for Go Cong Town to continue to break through, grow, and become worthy of being the central urban area of the East of Tien Giang province.

To welcome the event of Go Cong Town becoming Go Cong City, in addition to the Ceremony to announce Resolution 1013 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, there are many other activities, especially the Art Performance Program: Welcome performance by the Provincial Cultural Center, music and dance by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Traditional Club, concert by the Military Band of the 4th Corps, graceful performance of Go Cong Ao Dai, a comprehensive art program by the Art Troupe of Military Region 7 and Military Region 9... and fireworks display.

This is also an important premise for Go Cong City to move towards a civilized and modern urban area of Tien Giang province. And of course, this important event was enthusiastically and joyfully welcomed by Go Cong people. Mr. Hai Tuong's family (68 years old, Ward 2, Go Cong Town) has lived in Go Cong for many generations, so they have witnessed and felt the changes of Go Cong City, associated with each milestone of life.

"More importantly, the government apparatus has been streamlined, and the quality of operations has been increasingly improved," Mr. Hai Tuong shared.
