The announcement ceremony for Resolution 1013 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the arrangement and establishment of wards in Go Cong Town and the establishment of Go Cong City, Tien Giang Province, effective from May 1, 2024, was organized by the Provincial People's Committee today (April 26). This is an important event not only for the Party Committee, government, and people of Go Cong Town, but also has significant meaning for Tien Giang Province.
The upgrading of Go Cong Town to Go Cong City is a long-awaited aspiration of the Party Committee, government, and people of Go Cong. This is because it creates the conditions for Go Cong Town to continue its breakthrough and progress, befitting its status as the central urban area in the eastern part of Tien Giang province.
| To celebrate the upgrading of Go Cong Town to Go Cong City, in addition to the ceremony announcing Resolution 1013 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, there were many other activities, especially the art performance program: a welcoming performance by the Provincial Cultural Center, music and dance by the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union's Traditional Club, instrumental music by the 4th Army Corps' Military Band, a graceful Go Cong ao dai fashion show, a comprehensive art program by the Military Arts Troupe of Military Regions 7 and 9… and an artistic fireworks display. |
This is also an important prerequisite for Go Cong City to become a civilized and modern urban center of Tien Giang province. And naturally, this important event has been enthusiastically and joyfully welcomed by the people of Go Cong. Mr. Hai Tuong's family (68 years old, Ward 2, Go Cong Town) has lived in Go Cong for many generations, so they have witnessed and felt the changes in Go Cong City, linked to each milestone in their lives.

According to Mr. Hai Tuong, Go Cong City has undergone many changes compared to the past. A key highlight is the improved infrastructure, which is now well-maintained, clean, and beautiful, with many notable projects such as the construction of embankments, roads, and lighting systems to beautify the city. "More importantly, the government apparatus has been streamlined, and the quality of its operations has been continuously improved," Mr. Hai Tuong shared.

The city's appearance will certainly become more modern, the roads will be more spacious and cleaner, contributing to a new look for the city,” Ms. Muoi expressed.
